Reasons why sleep is good for you
I will be honest, this is an assessment that @CommunityModAnne has been asking me to do for over 7 months when I had terrible sleeping patterns. And yes, I did have really bad sleeping habits, during my last two terms of high school, I was only functioning on 2-4 hours sleep. That was everyday. Now since 1. I am more tired and 2. I have changed some very bad habits, I can say my sleeping schedule has changed so much. I first stopped drinking a single cup of coffee that had the equivalent of 5 coffee's in that one cup (yes, it was disgustingly strong and bitter, even with sugar). And since I barely drink coffee now days, I have my anxiety more under control and I can go to bed at more appropriate hours. And I also stopped drinking coffee before bed. Coffee really did affect me being able to function like a human and it really affected my sleep. I got so exhausted that I had No other option other then to fix my sleep and stop drinking such strong coffee's and also having coffee late at night.
What do i use to substitute coffee?
Well, I am more likely to be found drinking hot chocolate these days as it contains no caffeine in it and yeah.
How exhausted I was?
I was Very very exhausted, Like getting such little sleep really affected everything. My mental health, my performance, and it really affected my body. I lost a Lot of stamina from not sleeping properly and I am working on building it up. I am considering walking to a park just to go jog back and forth on the green area in it and I will slowly pick the pace up over time.
Where do I find energy when I have next to none?
well, I actually listen to a lot, and I mean, A Lot of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and the energy it has gives me more energy, yes I also do get random energy from my brain as I do have ADHD but that is rare for me as I am more easily distracted then anything else. This is why I am everywhere on cups, pmland, the forums and the group chats.
Do I want to return to my old sleeping habits?
Absolutely not, I don't want to be so exhausted again. It was no fun or walk in the park. It also made me very stressed out too as i wasn't coping with anything and I was falling behind on so much.

Amazing post! Thank you so much Talker ❤️.
Thank you for posting! I've had the opposite issue as many. My depression has led to me to oversleeping (10-11 hours, plus 2-3 hour long naps!). It made me feel even more tired and I felt disappointed that I was running out of time during the day to do self-care activities that I knew would have helped, like hygiene and preparing meals. I'm still struggling to keep my naps under an hour long, but thankfully I've been waking up early like I used to again. I really like (even though it's hard) forcing myself out of bed to do a yoga and/or cardio warmup before anything else to get my groove on for the day. It's like body coffee. ☺️
@emotionalTalker2260 very informative post!
@Zahraa000
sorry I had to translate what you said
Include the tweet, thank you for the wonderful information you provided, it was useful to me, especially since I didn't sleep well in the previous period
☹️ I am sorry to hear you’ve also had sleeping problems too, they aren’t fun at all. I do hope you find good sleep once again. 💕 And you’re welcome for the information 😀 and in the post, as I said twice, it was an overdue assignment a commod gave me 😛

How Much Sleep is Enough? You mention for adults is between 7 and 9 hours a night, but you haven't included any data for teens.
I think it's important to mention for teens age 13-17, since there are a lot of then on 7cups too, and for them it's a bit more.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has recommended that teenagers aged 13–18 years should sleep between 8 and 10 hours per night (per 24 hours) and the American Academy of Pediatrics has endorsed these recommendations.
Though it's an excellent article. Good job!
@emotionalTalker2260 teens like yourself need around 9 to 9.5 hours of sleep
