🌞The past week was well, and pretty standard as I continued to get back into the "swing of things" since being back from my vacation....We celebrated the Labor Day holiday here last weekend. Got out & about for a little bit Sat/Sun... and then on Labor Day we had a nice little quiet BBQ & grilled a few things.... I had several  appointments scheduled this week as well, so had a few of those to tend to. And now very glad that they are done & over with until next year!...

🌻I continued to get back on track with my workouts & activities as the week began... The weather had turned slightly cooler here this past week as well, and it felt absolutely AMAZING to get a break from all the humidity we had here this summer!... I am sad to know that Summer is dwindling away, but I do know that "each season" has its place, and I will ease into them as they continue to come. I live where it tends to be warmer & milder longer... So far it seems the humidity is gone for now, and the next week ahead looks just as nice. Its also allowed me to get out "each" day this week with the furbaby. So it was great for the both of us to get our walks in together.~

🌾 This weekend I have absolutely no concreate plans... I even hesitated on if I was going to get up and go to my regular morning Zumba class today & was choosing to just "sleep in"~ ....But... I went to bed even earlier than normal lastnight and my body woke me up in time naturally! Therefore, I had absolutely NO excuse to not get up and get in my workout. I have a few errands to run this weekend, and the fall festivals are starting back up again. So I Might catch one... Other than that, I will hopefully just relax, enjoy the cooler weather, & of course a few good movies for movie night~ And get ready to hopefully tackle the week ahead, and continue on in my goals for September~

@PoliteOcean

Hi, Ocean,

You of all people deserve to sleep in.  :)  I'm glad you got a little extra sleep by going to sleep earlier.

Hey AllWelcome to the weekendAnd Welcome to September!.... How are things going for you today?  I'm not sure.  My classes are absolutely insane this semester.  The overload of the work is phenomenal.

🌻 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for SEPTEMBER~... What is your "Most Favorite" part about this Month?.... Or what is something that you are looking forwards to the Most?~  I'm looking forward to the month ending.  Sorry, it isn't positive.

🌾  What are your intentions or some "New" goals that you'd like to set or create for yourself in this new month ahead?!~  I just hope to do well in my classes.  I'll get through them but I don't know how I'll do.

🍁 JUST FOR FUN:... Your "Gangster Name" is the current color of your shirt, and the LAST thing that you ate!..... WHAT is your "GANGSTER NAME" today?!

🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  I am absolutely under a mountain of work for my classes.  I talked to both professors.  While they sympathize, they just keep piling on the work.

@purpleTree4652

Hey there Tree :)  Thank you as always for your kind words. I definitely took advantage of the “extra” sleep both days this weekend!

Im sorry to hear that things are still feeling chaotic for you with your classes. Hopefully the more you delve into them you will start to feel some ease soon!

Lol… Nothing wrong with wanting a particular month to end. I suppose we all have those at some point in the year!

As far as your classes, Tree you have been doing so amazing with them. I know your thoughts try to make you feel & believe like things are going to be struggle and you can’t do it, but in the end each time you’ve proven that you’ve got this. And I have no doubt that you will continue to do well & pull through it all! … And even though the work continues to come, and pile up, its good that you are still staying in contact with your professors. Just remember to touch base with any counselors you might have as well if you are feeling too overwhelmed. They should be there to continue to help you through also!

And never forget that we are here to continue to support you as well Tree! Thank you for checking in and sharing your week with us. And please continue to keep us updated.

@PoliteOcean I'm writing this about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. I hope James doesn't have any therapists come over tonight. Last Sunday Amanda and her daughter Grace were here for a couple of hours the back house. I was very worried and stressed they might be moving back in but fortunately they were just visiting. The summer of 2023 was one of the worst summers in my entire life because of the noise both during the day and at night. James only had 3-4 appointments here at the house this week so that makes me happy. I'm still upset over his 9 appointments per week 4 weeks ago. Tunde came back to work for me so that makes me happy. Stuart is still yelling a lot. I asked my agency to send me 3 complaint forms two weeks ago and I never got them so I called and asked them to re-send them. I really need to get a haircut but I'm really far behind on my reading. I made my next doctor's appointment for October 1st. James is so emotionally immature. I really hate that. If I wanted to hang out with a whiny brat I'd go back to being a high school teacher again. I won't be able to start my Certificate of Achievement in Art History this year. I'll have to wait until September or October of 2025. It's really discouraging.

@Regmo

Hey Regmo~ That sounds like good news that Tunde is back in the picture & working for you again. Hopefully the agency gets those complaint forms to you soon in regards to the other unreliable caregivers. Im still at a loss for words as to how an agency can continue to keep people on like that. As far as the haircut, if it’s something you feel that you’re really in need of, then perhaps you can do that first and deal with the books & reading after, since the books will continue to be there? It’s good that you got your upcoming appts scheduled. And Even though you can’t move forward with your certificate this year, it’s good for you that you know you will still be able to focus on getting it done in the year to come. And Perhaps the new year ahead will not only produce that certificate, but also a new place of your own. Thanks for checking in this week & sharing. Continue to keep us updated.

@CyclingThroughLife

Hey there Cycling! Welcome back this week~

Status Quo can be a good thing~ I like to personally think of that as being “neutral”! Neutral is good 👍🏼… I hope that you were able to get the rest & relaxation that you needed. As well as get in that “Spin Class”!

Yes I know how much you enjoy the soccer season with your son. If he plays outdoors, it’s also a great time of year to be outside enjoying the weather as well!

Sounds like you have a lot of goals & dreams to focus on & look forwards to in those retirement years?! What kinds of things are you looking forwards to the most once you get to that point?!

Also, awesome job to you on continuing to keep up with your health, fitness & wellness routines! Continue to keep up the great work there!.… How are things going with that workout room that you had put together awhile back?! I know you had mentioned about all the work you put into getting it together the way you like.

(Gray cauliflower grits and chicken)… 😂😂… I’m sure all the other “gangsters” would be quite jealous of that one! Lol

Ohh.. Inspections are tough.. that’s great you pulled through and things were well. But yes stressful none-the-less!

As far as overthinking just know that you are definitely not alone! It can surely be a challenge to turn it all off no matter how hard we try some days to push it down or push it away… I just continue to remind myself to take baby-steps, deal with what we can in the moment, and take the rest day by day…. And also having a good support system helps.  Just remember that we are here to support you!

Thank you for checking in to share with us this week. And we hope that you continue to keep us updated on things and how you’re doing!

Sounds like you have a lot of goals & dreams to focus on & look forwards to in those retirement years?! What kinds of things are you looking forwards to the most once you get to that point?! My biggest goal for retirement is not having to work at in a career that I extremely dislike.  I won't stop working, but I plan to work where and when I want to.  Right now, I"m looking at getting  NASM certified as a personal trainer and wellness coach before I retire so I have something I can start when the time comes. The decision I have to make is whether I want to do it through the online course or get certified at a local college.  I'm thinking the local college will cause me more stress than its worth, having to sit in class, still work, and still do life things.....I'm thinking online, but that may still even be stressful.  Not sure if I want to add stress at this point.....

How are things going with that workout room that you had put together awhile back?! I know you had mentioned about all the work you put into getting it together the way you like. My workout room has turned into a full garage gym.  I have a weight stack cable machine, some adjustable dumb bells, a couple of benches, a couple of barbells and a landmine attachment.  I still have my Echelon spin bike that I use during the winter and inclement weather, and a road bike and a gravel bike that I am now riding regularly when the weather permits.  I try to do 3 days of weights and 2 days riding on one week then swap to 3 days riding and 2 days weights on the other.....I really need the workouts to help keep my sane at some times......

@CyclingThroughLife

I think it’s great that you want to continue to work after your retirement.., One of the best decisions I made was becoming an instructor myself! Being able to work for yourself, set your own hours, have something to fall back on, as well as make extra money doing something you actually enjoy is icing on the cake! Becoming an instructor first allowed me to get a feel for so many other different fitness formats & eventually delve into the Personal Training aspect!… I think you are really making a great choice. NASM is great, that is who I went through…and as far as getting there, I think it would depend on your personal preference. Doing it online is easiest route. Going into The college is just getting over that minor final hump. You would do great. (Because I’m like you, in that there’s nothing like being stuck at a job that you detest having to go into). And there’s also really nothing like being able to share your passion for fitness with others & inspiring them.. I’m personally glad I had the fitness endeavors to fall back on when I decided to take a step back from nursing.

As far as your home gym it DEFINITELY seems like you have everything that you need in place! And actually what I’m really seeing in an overall Bigger picture, is that with it being in your garage, you can even take on your own personal training clients (if you don’t want to work in a gym or fitness setting) & use your own gym & equipment and have a few clients come to you instead. Or even use it as a start-up & then see how you feel about moving forwards to a gym setting? Either way you’ve got so many avenues.

But  love your plan and hope at some point I get to hear more about all your new endeavors, experiences & your new PT license!

Ps… my hubby loves to Cycle and has that bike as well. Now to find him some “comfort” in that seat?!?

🌻 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for SEPTEMBER~... What is your "Most Favorite" part about this Month?.... Or what is something that you are looking forwards to the Most?~ This month I go back to work, my son starts college, and my daughter is in her last year of college, has an internship and a part-time job. I'm trying to work out transportation

🌾  What are your intentions or some "New" goals that you'd like to set or create for yourself in this new month ahead?!~ My goal this month is to practice Mindfulness.

🍁 JUST FOR FUN:... Your "Gangster Name" is the current color of your shirt, and the LAST thing that you ate!..... WHAT is your "GANGSTER NAME" today?! My gangster name is "Black Birria Burrito" Very intimidating!

🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges? Struggles this week- my husband fell and dislocated his thumb. For some reason he got a week off going into work and is telecommuting this week. I'm trying my best, but he's been more bad tempered than normal.
