🍁 The past week was well, standard, and on the quieter side of things.... Last weekend was focused on a little bit of "Self-care" & rest... Last Saturday after putting in time at my morning ZUMBA Class to start off the day, the rest of it was spent indoors at home. It was a cloudy, overcast , lazy kind of day, so it was spent Bingeing on many various movies & doing feel-good things....Sunday I got back on track with things, & out for a little shopping & light errands.
🌻 As the week started off, it turned a little colder & chillier here... But I got back on track with the week, & back to my usual routines & Group fitness classes. I focused on staying completely on track with my goals, meal-planning & tracking, my sleep goals, & finally got in that hydration that I got behind on! ... And a little bit of online work. I didn't get in as much outdoor time due to the cold & some rain, but the furbaby & I still managed a few various days together with some good walks.... I've also been working on getting things done & together that are needed little-by-little for our Small Thanksgiving dinner. We usually go to other family's place, but this year we will stay home & I will be doing it for the first time in a few years.
🍂 This weekend ahead it will still be a little on the chilly side, but the Sun is back out & shining~ I already got up and got in my usual Saturday morning Zumba class... Again for the 2nd week in a row, I have NO major plans.... So I will spend the day doing some various household chores, and getting my home prepped for the holidays by getting up a few lights & minor decorations while I have the spare time to start it!... As the next several weeks ahead will only continue to get busier as it leads up to Christmas....(Hopefully by next weekend I can get the Tree up, and then the weekend after Thanksgiving get it all decorated to start off December.... I can't believe we are already at this time of year again?!... This year just flew by.~) ... Sunday I will continue to get out and work on getting what's needed for Thanksgiving dinner, & then prepare for the upcoming week ahead & continue on in my personal goals...~
@PoliteOcean Tuesday Stuart was yelling so loudly it almost caused me a panic attack. If that happens I have to lie in bed for two days until I recover. I got a late birthday card from my insurance company. Wednesday morning my back was killing me feel no reason. It's very upsetting. The pain went away after about 20 minutes. Thursday I went to the food stamp office to request an increase. We had a good conversation but she said only my social worker can approve an increase so she sent a message asking her to call me. I have a good feeling about it. I went for 3 walks this week and went to the library 3 times. Now that James is gone I can be more consistent with brushing my teeth before I go to bed. That makes me happy. One thing I like about Leslie is that she treats me like an adult. She's the boss, but she doesn't treat me like a 14 year old. Saturday I got a refund on a package that got lost in transit. I have a blood test scheduled for November 26th.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ I can understand what you mean about the yelling…The older I have gotten, people yelling & loud noises just really distract me & disturb my wellbeing. So that must be really challenging to deal with on a regular basis…. That’s nice that you got a late birthday card. I like when all my little different offices remember me for my birthday or holidays too. I can also relate to the back issues. It can be a struggle to be in pain. And can surely take a toll on our mental wellness. Hopefully it continues to stay away for you. Hmmm… I find it interesting that they want your social worker to request the increase? … That’s good for you that you were able to get out for your walks & to the library this week. Getting out & about for even just a little bit can be so good for our overall wellbeing. And it’s good that you are more consistent with your oral hygiene. And it’s also a good thing that you & Leslie have a better understanding… And hopefully things will go better this time with your blood test. Continue to keep us updated and thanks for checking in to share your week.
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
I'm glad to hear things have been settling down for you.
Welcome to the Weekend~.... On a Scale of 1-10 (lowest to highest), How are things going for you today?.... What are your weekend plans ahead? I'm not sure. I have a sore spot where my lymph nodes are located under my left cheek. I have a question in to our HR person about using our clinic for free. We have a free clinic but I'm not sure if it's only for injuries received while at work. I don't have health insurance. I'm afraid it's cancer but I don't know for sure.
🍁This is our "Third" Check-in for the Month~ And we are officially "Half-way" through November already?! .... What is One thing that you feel that you've stayed on Track with or been Consistent with so far this month? my diet
🌾Let's reflect on the past week... Can you share "5 Healthy things" that you either did, accomplished, or incorporated for yourself this past week (These can be a 'mix' of things you did physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise such as goals/habits etc..)?! I ate healthfully for every mean except my meals on Friday, which is my cheat day.
🍂JUST FOR FUN:.. You are invited to Thanksgiving Dinner! .... WHAT special Dish are you making or bringing to share at this event?! a fruit salad
🌻What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! still workin' on it.
🍁What is something that "YOU" want to Talk about, Add or Share with us this week?... WE want to hear from YOU~
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~ Thank you as always for your kind words. ❤️……
Oh no Tree… I’m so sorry to hear about what you feel may be a Health scare. And it is certainly understandable that you are feeling the way you do….It could be swollen node, but keep in mind that these do go up & down in size when they are filtering. And can also become tender/sore at times when nothing is actually wrong. Try if you are able to Keep positive thoughts in the meantime & I hope that you can get in to see the clinic! Or perhaps there is also another free clinic in your area or one that is based on income? Just a thought? Maybe you could call around & look into that option if needed. In the meanwhile many positive thoughts, vibes, and prayers your way! 🙏🏼
But I think it’s awesome that you are staying consistent with your diet this month! And keep in mind that eating well will continue to nourish your body in a healthy way. Food can be healing!
(I love the idea of a “Fruit Salad”)! Great choice!
Please keep us posted Tree on how things are going & if you manage to get an appt made for yourself. And best wishes. Continue to keep us updated and thank you for checking in this week to share.
@PoliteOcean
I read online in the Mayo Clinic website that a sore lymph node is probably a cold or a virus. So I stayed in bed all weekend, and feel better this week.
The bad news is I cannot use the clinic. It is only for full time employees.
Thanks.
🌻Hey Everyone~ Welcome to the Weekend~.... On a Scale of 1-10 (lowest to highest), How are things going for you today?.... What are your weekend plans ahead?
7.5 honestly, I am good. The weekend was good actually, except for a few last minute changes that really messed with my adhd/autism.
🍁This is our "Third" Check-in for the Month~ And we are officially "Half-way" through November already?! .... What is One thing that you feel that you've stayed on Track with or been Consistent with so far this month?
I have been staying on top of being more upfront with my feelings, and emotions. I have also been more upfront with my boundaries, and not letting someone guilt trip or gaslight me into believing I am in the wrong.
🌾Let's reflect on the past week... Can you share "5 Healthy things" that you either did, accomplished, or incorporated for yourself this past week (These can be a 'mix' of things you did physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise such as goals/habits etc..)?!
1. Started ridding of sweets
2. Going back to the gym again
3. Doing more home projects with the little one
4. More quality time with my husband
5. More self-care time
🍂JUST FOR FUN:.. You are invited to Thanksgiving Dinner! .... WHAT special Dish are you making or bringing to share at this event?!
I have no idea just yet honestly lol.
🌻What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
Highlights: Hubby, daughter and I went to my in-law's house to watch the doggos (the boys) while they are away. Got some McDonalds, and have had time to spend with each other, even playing an online game with some friends while the little one went to bed.
Struggles: My husband has been a bit erratic lately, and has been saying some mean things out of his Asperger's going off with his autism, so it takes time for him to recognize his wrongs. Which is giving me a headache but I love him.
🍁What is something that "YOU" want to Talk about, Add or Share with us this week?... WE want to hear from YOU~
There is really nothing new for myself, but I wanted to add that I have been doing some 7cup academy things and I am excited for the future!
@InsightfulPhoenix
Hey there Phoenix~ 👋🏼
(I love to hear that 7.5)! Thats pretty great! And glad to hear you’ve been good overall!
I think it’s wonderful that you are staying on top of your boundaries as well of your feelings. (And communicating them)!… We always need to do what we can to be our own advocates. So Great job to you there! And continue to keep up the great work you’ve been doing with that.
Omg!!! Look at that List!!! Those are all Amazing! And it seems like you are doing so many wonderful, positive & healthy things. But #5 is the most important in the end, which is incorporating “Selfcare” time after it all! Great job to you on all of those. And continue to keep up the excellent work.
Despite hubby’s antics, and having to deal with those, it’s great that you are able to understand & reflect on why it’s happening. And able get through it & move past it… And that you have many other highlights to add into that with your loving little family. 🙂
It sounds like you are overall doing great! And that things having been continuing to come along for you in both your personal life as well as here at 7cups! We are glad to hear for you that you are excited for your future. Best wishes to you and please continue to keep us updated on things!
And then you for checking in to share with us this week. Lovely to hear from you.
Hey Everyone~ Welcome to the Weekend~.... On a Scale of 1-10 (lowest to highest), How are things going for you today?.... What are your weekend plans ahead? Today, things are an 8, basically because its my regular day off of work, I have no real plans or pressing issues, and the chores that I have to accomplish today are things I want to do, not things that I "have" to do....its the first time in a long time that I really don't have anything staring me down telling me it needs to get done. As for this week ahead, in my personal life, nothing really stands out. At work I have some extra things to do as I will be away at training on Mon, Tues, and Wed the week of Thanksgiving so I need to be sure my things there are in order, the end of the month administrative things are up to date, and everything is all set for my subordinates for when I'm not there.
🍁This is our "Third" Check-in for the Month~ And we are officially "Half-way" through November already?! .... What is One thing that you feel that you've stayed on Track with or been Consistent with so far this month? I feel I'm on track with completing my online class in a timely manner. I also have been very consistent with cutting my caffeine and staying on the plan of none after 8am..... There was one day this week that I almost gave in and had an energy drink mid morning, but didn't.....it was a hard internal struggle but I won.....and what makes it harder is that my co-workers think I'm nuts for cutting it and my family doesn't really care either way so there really isn't a "support" system IRL so to speak.....the people here are what I consider my support system for this challenge.....
🌾Let's reflect on the past week... Can you share "5 Healthy things" that you either did, accomplished, or incorporated for yourself this past week (These can be a 'mix' of things you did physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise such as goals/habits etc..)?!
5 healthy things:
1. I managed to get in some type of workout all 6 days(Sat. is my no workout active rest day).
2. One of the workouts was 30 min of yoga/stretching exercises (I always stretch real quick before and after my workouts but don't have a day dedicated to extended flexibility and/or mobility. I want to incorporate at least one day of 30 min or more of this moving forward
3. Put up the Christmas tree and some decorations and lights outside (this was healthy for my emotional state of mind this week)
4. I went back to tracking my food intake on MFP but then quit again after 2 days because I just don't have the patience or time to try to put in each ingredient/food for each meal. I will however, continue to be more mindful of the amount and types of Macros I am putting into my body without the tracker
5. I deleted a bunch of apps of my phone that I felt were no longer serving me or were taking time away from me by mindless scrolling or reading..... We download apps that claim to be helpful, time saving and life changing, and, while some of them are, a lot end up being less helpful and just more time consuming if you really analyze them. I've gone back to pencil and paper for a few things in the last couple weeks and I'm kinda liking it.....
🍂JUST FOR FUN:.. You are invited to Thanksgiving Dinner! .... WHAT special Dish are you making or bringing to share at this event?! I'm buying a pre-made dessert pie, probably a cold one that doesn't need to be cooked or heated lol
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there Cycling 🚴 ~
Thats great for you that you seemed to have a great day on your check-in~ A good day off of work can usually always help Put us in a good mood & better spirits… And it’s also a great thing that you had time for “you” and nothing too pressing to take away from your day off….
It sounds like you have quite a busy week coming up the week of Thanksgiving.. best wishes to you on getting everything done & in order that is needed.
It also appears that you have a lot of great things that you are keeping on track & staying consistent with! Definitely sounds like a lot of great progress is continuing to be made in those goals for yourself…. I know how challenging it can be at times to find the help or support that we need in our efforts (whatever those efforts might be).. but the key is always to try to surround yourself with a few like-minded people (no matter how small the group), and even if that support is “online” as it is here with 7cups! Which by the way we are very glad to hear that you are finding that support here when you need it in this Community overall! Keep going, you’ve got this. We are here to support you.
WOW! Look at that list! Amazing efforts there! That really is awesome! Not to mention I see a lot of thought & soul-searching has been put into some of those (in particular with the app deletion)….. Great mental effort there….I’m a big fan in releasing & letting go of negative energy, and what no longer serves a positive purpose in our lives…Good for you….
(Im also with you in that I want to incorporate more stretch efforts into my week).. I know how important it is & how much we need that. Seems like that aspect gets put lowest on the totem poll though for most! (Great job to you there on trying to devise a plan for it)…. Also I see that you as well have gotten up some Christmas decorations! Doesn’t it feel so good?! It’s such a nice mental Booster….
As far as tracking there are alot of great apps (yes another app lol) to keep track of your foods!… (I honestly found MFP to be too overly taxing & gave up on that one years ago)! But There are many other simpler ones out there. You just have to find what fits you. I think there is one called Food Diary, & Calorie Counter that tracks calories & macros…
(I like the idea of bringing the dessert pie for Thanksgiving)… a lot less stress! lol
Cycling this is an amazing Check-in for you this week. So many positive things, vibes, & energy here through so many simple things & efforts! Great job to you on all of it! And keep up the great work you are doing and striving for.
And thanks for checking in to share your week with us! And as always please continue to keep us updated on everything!
@PoliteOcean I'm writing this on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Stuart abused me again. He's been abusing me for 3 years. I didn't tell Leslie about it because I didn't think it would get me anywhere. Abusing a disabled person is a federal hate crime. Technically it's illegal for Leslie to give me an eviction notice for filing an abuse complaint. She can punish me in other ways. I told Stuart multiple times not to yell but he does it anyways. Well Stuart abused me again today. He's been abusing me for 3 years. I told Leslie today about today's incident. I don't care if Leslie gives me an eviction notice because if I die of a heart attack or stroke I'm not going to need a place to live.
@Regmo
Sorry this happened Regmo. Sounds like a challenging & difficult situation. (Not sure much can be done about the yelling part)... Since technically it’s considered his home too… However If Stuart is being “physical” with you or anyone else in the household something should be done about it. As that isn’t just abuse but it’s assault. Hopefully for you there can be some type of resolution. I would also reach out to a social worker about it if you have one. They might be able to help step in and remedy things if possible. Good for you for telling Leslie & being your own advocate.
@PoliteOcean I'm writing this Thursday night. Leslie just gave me a good narcissistic explanation on why I need to let Stuart abuse me. It's because of when he had a stroke several months ago and it helps his neck muscles to scream loudly so he doesn't lose his ability to talk. The fact that I have PTSD and Stuart's yelling causes me emotional distress is irrelevant to her. Living here is a horrific nightmare. If I ever write my memoirs I'm going to call this chapter "Banana Republic. "
