❄️This past week was well & standard… Last weekend we came off of our First snow here in almost exactly 3 years!… So Saturday was spent indoors early on, & got in a good home-workout that I put together for myself…. & then later in the afternoon got out for a bit to check the road conditions, & run a few quick errands as I prepared to get ready to start the week off right & get back on track with things…. On Sunday facilities & businesses were back to being fully opened & functioning, so I was able to get back on track with my newest Zumba class to start the week off that day…. Meeting Hydration & Sleep goals have still been my two top goal struggles so far this month.... So still working on those...
☃️Sunday night before bed I had taken a new medication that I had a strong & strange reaction to… (even though I’d taken it before long ago in the past).... And while it inevitably did what I needed it to do in the end, it still did not start my week off on the greatest note, As I woke up at 5am & the room was spinning around like a Disco ball among other things.... Fortunately as the day went on, & I got hydrated with fluids & all the good things, all of that started to simmer down.... And while I did miss my early morning Aqua class, I was still able to get back on track by taking a later class for that day once I was feeling better…~ The past week was still frigid throughout… However, I was able to at least get “One” day outdoors on Friday afternoon with the Furbaby as the temperature went up “very briefly” that day!... As it was the first actual walk for us together in 2025!… However, it’s also turning colder again next week, & calling for another “possible” chance for more snow ahead.~ So looking at more continued indoor time during these wintery weeks~ And trying to make the most of it…
❄️This weekend ahead, temps have dropped down again, but I got up & out for some early Saturday morning Zumba to start off the day… And then more Zumba for Sunday afternoon as well, to continue on track with my goals for the upcoming week, & remainder of the Month.... With the cold & uncooperative weather, there will be lots of indoor time again to work on getting some 2025 Decluttering time done!… All of this indoor time makes it the perfect time to do so~ ... At least I will have gotten alot of things done & tackled when Spring eventually gets here.~
⭐JUST FOR FUN: When cooking or making food for yourself, what is your #1 "I put that (Blank) on Everything ingredient!"?
Easy, I put Tabasco on almost everything I eat. 🌶
@YourCaringConfidant
Oh mine is definitely garlic!!!
Just made oxtails and mince yummy 😋 🤤
@YourCaringConfidant
😮😮😮… oh wow! The hot 🥵 stuff! lol
I can’t do anything spicy… 🌶️
Does that mean things like cereal 🥣 too?! 🤪 j/k
Thank you for sharing!
@YourCaringConfidant
Oh yeah 👍 Tabasco 🙂
Love this too I recently tried it & thought this is a great clean nutritious sauce.
No sugar added I don't think. We must check that out....
@PoliteOcean
Garlic definitely
I even eat them raw daily
I've just used the wet garlic variety for oxtails & mince. Superb!
@joyfulUs2825
😮😮😮 Raw?!! Wow you are very brave lol!
But Garlic 🧄 does actually have many great health benefits! 👍🏼
I like garlic too, but definitely don’t think I could do it “raw”… but a good garlic roll, or garlic bread 🥖 is right up my alley! 😂
Thanks for sharing with us!
@PoliteOcean
Hey 👋 your welcome. Yes bravery is needed OR a big glass of cool water. It's very potent to heal & maintain but potent on the taste buds too.
I tend to chew one half then sip and swirl
Then eat the other half sipping between bites and a nice mouth full of water at the end

@PoliteOcean This past week Leslie was terrible regarding breakfast. She's a narcissist and I don't know what her true motivation is. I'm not going to play her game. The ultimate goal of a narcissist is enmeshment. Her irresponsibility is costing me a lot of money. God isn't telling me what the solution is. It's extremely aggravating. Sunday I took a shower. I always worry Stuart is going to abuse me when I'm in the bathroom. Wednesday I submitted a blood sample at LabCorp. Parking is an ordeal. Politicians don't care about people, they only care about money. I went to the library 3 times but one time I had to leave early because I wasn't feeling well. I'm working on my discussion questions for Madame Bovary. I went for a walk 3 times. Amanda is a terrible mother. One thing I like about her is she does a better job of keeping the kitchen table clean than Leslie does. I got a refund on the Google play card I sent to my scammer ex-girlfriend Sandra. Unfortunately I'm not going to get a refund on my Steam card. I hate my credit card company. Their customer service is terrible. Friday morning I had a 30 minute therapy session with Jim. We had a good conversation but this is the fourth therapist I've had with the same clinic. The first three didn't do me any good. Tunde said starting in February he has to go back to working 3 days a week instead of 4. I'm really disappointed about it. Getting things done around the house is virtually impossible.
@Regmo
That’s good that you were able to start off your week with a shower.. And hopefully for your situation, that Sifa was able to have that talk with Stuart like he stated to you he would… It’s also good that you were able to get your labs done & get out to the library 3 times despite having to leave early once due to not feeling well.~ Good job to you for not only working on your discussion questions but getting in your walks 3 times this week. Keep up the great work there… And despite not having any luck with your steam card, it’s a positive thing that you were able to get help with your refund on the Google play card, as some help is better than none… That’s too bad that Tunde has to cut back on his days. Hopefully it won’t be for a long? And that he can eventually come back to putting in the days & times that he has been... It’s also a good thing that you were able to see your therapist Jim. Hopefully the 4th time could be a “charm”?! … As far as “God” telling you what the solution should be, we just need to have & keep an open mind & faith. And pray over the situation, seek him, & ask to be shown the solutions & To lead & guide the way. I feel that with all of your household troubles & those involved, that the solution would be to have your own place or at the very least a better place than where you are currently…. One where you can be and live in the manner that you desire for yourself. Perhaps with a live-in aid if possible (should you find your own space), since you would still need the help. And Since you are now back to seeing a therapist, perhaps they can lead & guide you to some resources, as well as to a good social-worker or caseworker that could help you there with those answers? Many therapists are also licensed Social workers themselves and should have some knowledge or resources they can direct you to. Just a thought…. But thanks for sharing your week with us and checking in. Continue to keep us updated on how things are moving along.
⭐Hey Everyone, Welcome to the weekend~... How are things going for you today?!... How has the past week gone for you overall? Things are ok today. I'm on a weekend get away. Not real far from home but far enough to not be bothered by "home" and "local" things.....shopping in places we don't get to visit often, eating at restaurants we don't have locally, and trying to relax...we got a hotel with a hot tub in the indoor pool area and a spa tub in our room...I think I'll be spending a lot of time in the water today....once every three or four months, we try to take an over nighter or long weekend away from home to try to rest, relax, and reset...they are usually planned a month in advance but this one was spur of the moment last minute....
The week for me went status quo...I still feel a little stuck with some ideas and plans for change....I just don't know what path to take to implement them....I know there will be positives that come from this change, but I'm scared to death of what may go wrong.....Its like I'm comfortable in my comfort zone and afraid to step out....better to deal with the stress you have and know than to learn to deal with a new one you don't know how to handle if that makes sense....I'll eventually figure it out and take that step forward and come out of my shallow rut....
🎈This is our "Third" Check-in for JANUARY ~.... We are officially Half-way through the Month~... In continuing with the Theme of "January Self Care Month", How did you take care of yourself this week?!....Last minute I took Friday and Saturday off work, because we were actually fully staffed and I could, and took an unplanned get out of town trip...... What do you feel is the "One" absolute "Feel-good" thing that you either already do, OR, could do more of, that would cover yourself overall Mentally, Emotionally, & Physically?!....I'm not sure there is just "one" thing....for me its a sum of a bunch of small things (TAKE PART IN THE JANUARY SELF-CARE CHALLENGE CLICK HERE)...
💪 In looking forwards ahead, as we move through 2025, What is something that you could Or would like to, "Simplify" for yourself, in your life, Or, in your goals ahead this year?!.... And
what has been One Simple Rule for your life that you continue to follow
for yourself that you feel has been tried & true for you? I used to have a simple rule for life that I would follow, but like everything else in life, it goes by the wayside at times, sometimes for longer than I would like, and I need to remind myself about it....I would like to get back to using it and apply it to my thoughts and actions....that rule is the "5X5 rule" The 5x5 rules states that if something won't matter in five years, you shouldn't spend more than five minutes worrying about it. I used to do this a lot but when things got really bad, I abandoned it because it doesn't address the "right now" or the consequences of the right now, if that makes sense.......I'd like to get back to trying to abide by this rule.....
⭐JUST FOR FUN:.. When cooking or making food for yourself, What is your #1 "I put that (Blank) on Everything ingredient?! (I'll start: Mine is Ketchup)~ Gotta be Garlic for all savory applications.....
🎈What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! One of my struggles this week was the fact that I am not where I want to be or need to be when it comes to my NASM CPT class....I have taken numerous practice tests(closed book) and failed a few, and barely passed a few....I'm having trouble in certain areas and can't seem to find a study option that works for me....with that said, I could take the non-proctored, open book exam and probably pass it with a high score...the non proctored exam offers an NASM CPT certificate....the closed book, proctored exam, proctored by NCCA, offers the certification.......I did pay for the non proctored closed book exam certification, because in my mind, that looks better on a resume....maybe I'm wrong and the people in the field could care less if I had a certificate vs a certification, I don't know.......if it comes down to it, and I get frustrated enough, I'll take the non proctored exam just so I can pass and have a certificate and continue to learn from experience and mentorship as I go forward in the field, and get my certification when I feel ready.....I said all that to say this.....I guess I have options.....
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there Cycling~
It sounds like you are doing a great job for yourself incorporating some Self care time away from home! Your long weekend getaway sounds amazing. And it’s really good for the soul when we can do things like that for ourselves or share them with loved ones. Nothing better than being able to getaway for a bit and leave behind the day to day routines. And being able to simply refresh & recharge (& relax)!
Fear of change and the “unknown” is definitely a common experience when looking ahead to our future lives... Especially when you want to make a change and not sure how to go about things…. It’s then when you really have to take a look at yourself, and sometimes dig deeper to find the answers. While also being honest with yourself about your own personal needs and what would “truly” make you feel the happiest overall. It’s not always easy to decide.. and sometimes in the end, you may just need to take a leap of faith and jump right in?!… Either way best of luck on deciding what’s right and what’s best for you.
Hmmm… the 5x5 rule. Very interesting! This is honestly the first time I’ve ever heard of that and now you’ve got me to thinking on it myself!.. I could certainly see the “challenge” of using it and wondering how to apply it to the “here & now”,… and hopefully since it has worked for you in the past, that you can work around that & find a way to apply it to your life again in a way that will work for you going forwards.
(Lol… another Garlic lover~ It’s certainly a great choice.)
As far as your exam and which route you should follow, hopefully you find the solution that will work best for you. The thing to look at and perhaps take into consideration is asking yourself what you exactly want to do & accomplish with it once you complete it, and also how far do you want to go forwards with it?…. In the end, where you work using it can make a difference. But even that is by location. As many can manage to get by with just the certificate alone. Especially as you work towards the certification… And when you are ready to do that, as you already stated, you have that option! So again best of luck on whatever route you choose to go there.
Hopefully you are continuing to enjoy your getaway time, and thanks for taking a break from it to check in and share your week with us! And as always please keep us updated on how you are doing.
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
I'm glad you're feeling better. I swear that they don't mix all the pills equally. Sometimes I have a bad reaction, too, from pills that I take all the time. It's uncomfortable.
⭐Hey Everyone, Welcome to the weekend~... How are things going for you today?!... How has the past week gone for you overall? Today I woke up in a tizzy because I got the due dates mixed up for assignments. I thought I really blew it. Turns out I didn't. I had it right in the first place. I had to calm down from that.
Gosh, friday, we had to throw three people out from the library. I wasn't there for one of them but was there for the other two. It's so disturbing.
The lawyers ended up turning down my case. They wanted to refer me to other lawyers but I told them to forget it. I'm just going to focus on finding a new job and my classes.
🎈This is our "Third" Check-in for JANUARY ~.... We are officially Half-way through the Month~... In continuing with the Theme of "January Self Care Month", How did you take care of yourself this week?!.... What do you feel is the "One" absolute "Feel-good" thing that you either already do, OR, could do more of, that would cover yourself overall Mentally, Emotionally, & Physically?!.... (TAKE PART IN THE JANUARY SELF-CARE CHALLENGE CLICK HERE)... I got lots of sleep. I think that keeping up with meditating, working out, keeping up with lots of sleep, and studying Hawaiian and my regular classes would cover it all. But I have been feeling drained.
💪 In looking forwards ahead, as we move through 2025, What is something that you could Or would like to, "Simplify" for yourself, in your life, Or, in your goals ahead this year?!.... And what has been One Simple Rule for your life that you continue to follow for yourself that you feel has been tried & true for you? Trying to wear my hair in complicated hair styles that take a lot of time. I think I'm going to simplify my hair styles for now. Sleeping a lot has been tried & true for me.
⭐JUST FOR FUN:.. When cooking or making food for yourself, What is your #1 "I put that (Blank) on Everything ingredient?! (I'll start: Mine is Ketchup)~ Gosh, I don't have one. I eat it as prepared.
🎈What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! A visiting library manager came in to conduct interviews for her location. She began talking to me about applying for jobs right in front of the problem employee. That was a bad decision on her part. I shut it down as fast as I could. Plus I think she saw my eyes widen with shock.
💪What is something that "YOU" want to Talk about, Add or Share with us this week?... WE want to hear from YOU~
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~
Thank you for the well-wishes. (These winter allergies have been trying to kick my butt this season)!… I hate taking meds if I don’t have to and that’s the reason why.. but I totally agree with you. That could definitely be a possibility in not mixing the meds equally! 🤦🏻♀️.. and yes very uncomfortable~ 😔
———-
Oh no, I can imagine how that must’ve made you feel in getting the dates mixed up for your assignment! What a great thing that it all turned out well and that you had it right in the first place! I’m sure that’s definitely a load off your mind!
My goodness, that whole library situation sounds like a crazy mess. I’ve never known a library with so many disturbing issues & concerns….And I’m sorry to hear that the lawyers turned down your case. I can understand not wanting to have to go through another battle in trying to get referred again to someone else. I’m so glad that you will focus on a positive route going forwards in looking for a new job and continuing on with doing well in your classes. Which is definitely (in my opinion), time better spent for you. And your overall well-being. 👍🏼
I can empathize with you in that (feeling drained feeling)… its exhausting & can just take so much out of you!... But that’s really great that you are focusing on getting lots of sleep! That is so important.. as well as continuing on with all of the other good things that you are doing for yourself with (meditation, working out, and enjoying your passion of Studying Hawaiian)! I think you are the only person I’ve ever know to study that! But I know you also want to live there at some point. (Also on my bucket list as well to visit)!.. Great job to you on keeping up with & fitting in doing all the good things that focus on your overall wellness. While also keeping up with your schooling! Keep up the great work there. 👍🏼
Ahh.., I love the idea of simplifying your hair routine! I did this for myself about 10+ years ago, and it’s definitely saved so much time & effort in the simplest things.. Now I only truly put more time into it on special occasions etc… and yes, focusing on getting proper rest & sleep can help our bodies in so many ways mentally, emotionally & physically. I certainly know how much better I feel overall with getting proper rest.
Omg Tree! Im so sorry that your privacy was invaded & violated by the visiting library manager! She was so in the wrong here! And professionally she should have known better to pull you aside in a more private setting. That was definitely a bad decision on her part I agree! The nerve of her!!… But awesome job to you on not being afraid to “shut that mess down” & quickly! And you were right to do so! Good for you again on standing up for yourself.
Thank you for taking the time to share with us this week. Despite some issues with certain situations, it’s clear that you are doing the best you can to ensure that you are focusing on yourself & your wellbeing in the midst of it all. You are continuing to do great like you always do! Continue to stay focused on all the things you are doing so well with! And please continue to keep us posted on how you are doing and how things are going.
