🎄 This past week was well and Standard~... Last Sunday, I immediately got back on track for the week with my goals after the Thanksgiving Holiday (with my meal-planning/tracking, hydration goals, & workouts/activity).... But my sleep this past week fell off the map a little bit again, which I wasn't happy about. Ever since right before Thanksgiving I have not slept as well, not fallen asleep as quickly, & not staying asleep as long.... So that is definitely something I have to figure out and work on for the week to come. As We all know how important proper rest/sleep is.
🎁 It has been Incredibly Colder here over the past week as well... which meant absolutely No outdoor time for me or the Furbaby all week. I can barely tolerate the temps... Other than getting out to my Group Fitness classes, and the usual comings/goings & errands etc.. that I had to do, I tried to find time to work on some things around the house as needed. As well as find some down-time to rest my body from the lack of sleep.... And there's not much change coming in the next week either with the colder temps. I don't mind that as much as I mind not being able to take the Furbaby out for his walks. (Plus, if its going to be this cold, at least the forecast could do is send some SNOW this way)! I haven't seen it in almost 3 years!~
🎅 This weekend ahead intentions are to start-off with the usual Saturday morning Zumba class to finish up the week on the right foot... Then of course, it's December, so that means there are a TON of Christmas Festivals continuing on this weekend.... Intentions are to get out for a few of those on Saturday (as it keeps the Christmas spirit up, it's a chance to do something even though its so cold out, and I get to shop the many vendors and get more steps & activity in my day).... Afterwards, we will go check-out some Christmas lights.... On Sunday, there is a Christmas Concert (something I haven't done or been to in years)!... But there will be lots of Carols sung, some festivities after, and a "Cookie Crawl" (which is something I have never been to or heard of before this).... But more importantly continue to stay in the Holiday spirit this month, & continue to appreciate the "little things".... That's imperative to my continued Wellbeing.~
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. I'm writing this at 8 p.m. Friday night. Monday I went to the DMV and renew my Photo ID. I had to stand up for 30 minutes. I was very worried I wasn't going to make it. Tunde was very good at being emotionally supportive. Tuesday I got approved for a $24 once a month increase in food stamps. I have enough food to make it until the end of December but not for January. Wednesday I went to the library and also for a walk. Now that James is gone I'm going to try to go back to praying for different countries of the world. Thursday I had a doctor's appointment. We reviewed the results of my blood test. She thinks I'm doing well. I finally got my laundry done which I've been waiting for space to open for 10 days. I decided to take a break from my vocabulary journal and read Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. I've been wanting to read Flaubert for decades but haven't gotten around to it. Friday I put Argan oil on my feet. I have really dry skin. For this upcoming week I have a massage appointment on Tuesday. My legs are really super tight. Wednesday I have an appointment with a different doctor for my insurance company. Amanda has been staying overnight the past 4 days and two of those nights her 4 year old daughter Grace slept with her. It's really super inappropriate but I can't say anything about it. I'm going to stop experimenting with new supplements because I want to trim expenses. I found Super L-Lysine extract. I think it's working really well. Having James live here for 12 weeks really shot my immune system. I'm going to try to pray that if Leslie puts a new client in here she will put him in Stuarts bedroom. What I really need is applied kinesiology. I want to get two M.A.s in the next six years. I want one for my art career and another for my ministry. I was going to get an MA in Church Leadership but the curriculum is really boring. I found a really cool MA program in Theology and Culture. It most closely corresponds with my ministry vision. I won't be able to start it for a few years. I'm getting so old. I hope God knows what he is doing.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ Despite what sounds like a challenging time in having to stand & wait for your Photo ID, that’s great that you were able to get it taken care of, done & over with! And I think it’s wonderful that you were also able to find the support that you needed in Tunde being there with you. Definitely a positive… That’s also good news for you that you were able to get an increase in stamps. (I have heard over the years that they have dramatically decreased what they were once upon a time ago giving out). So that definitely sounds like another positive for you… I think it’s also great news that you were able to get out to the library, out for your walk/activity, and that you will be able to get back to your prayer time. And things seem to be moving along well with the positive results of your blood work as well as being able to get your laundry done. The upcoming massage sounds amazing! (I could use one myself as my neck has been acting really crazy for months.. I think you inspired me to try to make an appointment for myself!)… I think it’s really strange based on your check-ins, the amount of (personal) people that seem to come in & out of the house that you live in.. (one that’s supposed to provide care to those who need it). As a nurse I’ve just never seen or heard of that & It does in fact sound a little inappropriate for it to be allowed to continue. As far as the supplements they truly can add up and become an added expense. I know that from personal experience myself! .. So it’s good that you want to cut back to help manage your expenses. That Sounds like a good call. (I also use to take L-lysine myself years ago), it’s good that you feel it’s working for you. It’s also wonderful that you want to continue to work on furthering your education. Those are great goals to strive towards there. I know you had mentioned wanting to do something about this before but had ran into a roadblock at the time. But it definitely doesn’t mean that you can’t make it happen in time. So keep up the great work. Its never too late! And God knows, Just trust… And thank you for checking in to share your week. It definitely sounds like things were overall well for you! Please continue to let us know how things are going.
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
Welcome to the weekend & Welcome to the Month of December~ How are you doing today? I'm a little depressed.
🎁This is our "First" Check-in for the Month of "DECEMBER"~.... How has the First week gone for you this past week?... What are some things that you are looking forwards to the Most in this "Last" Month of the Year?! This last week I was verbally attacked by a person I work with who really needs a psychiatrist and psychiatric meds. It started when she asked me if I am ok for breathing. I am a big person so when I move around, I sometimes let out a big breath. I did that and she asks me if I'm ok. The first time I wasn't even sure if she was talking to me because I was just breathing. A few minutes later it happened again. I told her that it is just a breath, K. (I won't say her name here.) She basically started an argument and I wouldn't go there. I told her I wouldn't argue and thanked her for asking. So then she gets our boss. He asks me what happened. I tell him nothing except (K) brought this up.
Apparently she has been bothered by me for a long time, and finally tried to start an argument with me. She won't leave this alone. She has already been in to my boss to complain about me because my solution is to talk to her as little as possible. I have liked both of my bosses, but I recently found out they are both leaving. So I will be left with this maniac, one other young woman who teaches me, and a new boss. I'm not sure exactly when that will happen, but they thought it would happen in January. I'm not in a good frame of mind.
Also, I am out of my rexulti pills, so I have to drivve to my nurse practitioner on Monday after work. She is 56 miles away and it is supposed to rain, so I'm not looking forward to the drive. (sigh)
🎅What are some Healthy Goals that you would like to create for yourself, do better with, or that you may even have gotten behind on to this point in the year, And how would you like to finish this month AND this year off Strong with those for yourself?! My goals are to be stable. I told my boss I am looking for another job because of all the danger where I work. And I want no trouble from the woman I work with who seems bent on causing me problems. stability is all that I want right now.
🎄JUST FOR FUN:.. What is your Favorite Christmas Song or Carol?!~ I don't know. I'll have to think about it.
🎁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! Please see my answers above.
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~
It certainly sounds like you’ve had quite the week to deal with. Sorry to hear that all these situations are causing you to feel depressed at this time..
The situation that you are having with your co-worker definitely sounds like added stress & pressure that nobody needs or wants!... And you surely shouldn’t feel like you have to force yourself to talk to someone that you prefer not to converse with or deal with. It’s understandable with what happened that you want to keep your distance… I have a genuine question (obviously I don’t know her & definitely was not there), but do you feel that maybe she asked if you were ok out of genuine concern or that she truly was annoyed by you breathing? I’m truly asking only because I know how (I can personally be) with others…. So I’m honestly trying to visualize that experience as you’re telling it….
I can also understand how upsetting it can be to lose a boss/supervisor/management that you’ve grown accustomed to having around & being able to work with & talk to when needed. (As I nurse I definitely understand job “turnaround”!)… I think until you know how all that will play out, as well as until you find other employment, that you are doing the best thing that you can do for yourself in this situation with the co-worker! And that’s basically keeping distance as able with her to where it doesn’t interfere with your job, and when you do have to deal with her, only answer & speak cordially as needed. No more/no less…. Hopefully for you the situation will resolve itself or at least die down in the meantime while awaiting (new management &/or new job prospects)….
And also while I definitely realize 56 miles away is a crazy amount of distance & driving time for medication, it’s medication that is definitely needed. When I’m in that type of predicament I personally find that having one of my “Best playlists” on hand is quite helpful! So I can turn UP the music (or whatever you like listening to), and turn DOWN all the other Drama in my head!
Wanting “stability” for yourself is not asking for much. And definitely worth working for, fighting for, & achieving. One of my mottos is “If it costs us our peace, then it’s way too expensive”!.. So keep up the good work & do what you feel you have to personally do for yourself to feel that stability & have it!
We are here to support you… And Thank you for checking in this week and sharing with us. And as always please continue to keep us posted & updated on things.
@PoliteOcean
I honestly am not sure why she asks if I am ok. I have not heard her ask anyone else and I don't breathe that loudly at all. She told my boss that I sighed. I did not. I also know that she has to control situations. She also talks a lot and wants everyone to like her. It could be that she tries to annoy me.
Hey Everyone~ Welcome to the weekend & Welcome to the Month of December~ How are you doing today? I have been away better.
🎁This is our "First" Check-in for the Month of "DECEMBER"~.... How has the First week gone for you this past week?... First week was okay, did errands and cleaned a lot, I need more sleep.
What are some things that you are looking forwards to the Most in this "Last" Month of the Year?! I want to go through all of my stuff and truly declutter.
🎅What are some Healthy Goals that you would like to create for yourself, do better with, or that you may even have gotten behind on to this point in the year, And how would you like to finish this month AND this year off Strong with those for yourself?! I am trying to get a new doctor and get out more
🎄JUST FOR FUN:.. What is your Favorite Christmas Song or Carol?!~ Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas
🎁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! The weather has made it hard to get out. I want to take a walk and I can't breathe right in cold weather.
🎅What is something that "YOU" want to Talk about, Add or Share with us this week?... WE want to hear from YOU~ Tomorrow is my birthday and I just do not feel like celebrating as I feel like a loser and a failure. I tried all year, actually for several years to get on us in Housing only to get denied.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey there Rebekah! So nice to hear from you this week~
It’s great for you that you’ve been doing “way better”. That’s Good news for you.
How productive that you were able to get errands & cleaning done. I know I personally feel so accomplished when I’m able to get things organized. I think it’s a great goal to work towards in wanting to go through all your stuff & declutter! It’s been proven that it helps our overall wellbeing in doing so! … and hopefully you can get the sleep you are needing to top it all off!
Good for you in wanting to find a new doctor for yourself. Having a good one is so important. And hopefully as well you can continue to work on getting out more as you desire…. But I certainly have to agree on the weather making that harder to do so this time of year. It’s cold here too, so getting outdoors has been challenging.. so I can understand.
We’re sorry to hear that you are still having a difficult time with your housing situation and hopefully things will come together there for you all in time, and as well until then, you are able to find something that you can enjoy to have a good birthday tomorrow!
It was really nice to hear from you again. And glad that you are overall doing better. Keep up the great work & please continue to keep us posted on how you are doing!
