🎄 The past week was well & seemed to go by pretty quickly~... Last Saturday we got out & about to a small, local Christmas festival... It was fairly decent weather out that day, so it actually felt pretty good out to walk through it all & get some added activity & steps in... then also got in some minor Christmas shopping after.... Sunday was a good day to just sleep-in & try to get caught-up on some needed rest.... then a good home workout once up, and then off to see some Local Christmas lights & displays later in the evening before starting off the week~ I've always truly loved how this time of year makes me feel inside ever since I was a child (between all the lights, decorations, holiday festivals etc..) its a wonderful time for me to personally "feel Merry" despite anything else that might be going on around me.~ And I always try to do my best to continue with traditions for my own kid (even though he's an adult now) lol...
🎁 As the week started I got back on track with all my usual things & goals... Group Fitness classes, workouts/activities etc..etc..... However, as this time of year is where I am, the weather can be completely wacky... (brutally cold one day, then its warm & rainy the next)?!..... So still no outdoor time, activity or walks with the furbaby (who I know is missing them)~... So I'm trying to figure that out for him~ .... As I've been continuing to reach some personal goals & get closer to others (since the pandemic when I took a much needed break), Instructing my (or any) Fitness classes again has still been on the back-burner (as I continue to still think on how I want to go about things again)....Nursing for me is one thing, but with teaching Fitness, this time, when I get back to things it will be more about how to find "balance" & not "how to please everyone but myself"~ But as we get ready to approach another New Year soon, this will be something I continue to ponder on & mull-over~
🎅 This weekend ahead will in fact be about some balance, down-time, & hopefully a little self-care~... Intentions are to get that Saturday morning Zumba class in to start the day off with some activity & step goals... And then afterwards it will be a day at HOME alone~ While Chillaxin' & cuddles with the Pup, some light cleaning & organizing, & then an afternoon of "Gift-wrapping" (Which the goal is to have all that done by days end).... And hopefully a good movie or show to follow for a quiet evening in.~
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
ow was your week?... And what is something that went Well for you? My week was not something I want repeated. I mean that the homeless people try to talk to me in language that I don't like. It is offensive to me and I choose not to be that close to them. I don't really have anything that went well. I guess I can say that we weren't shot at work. That's good.
🎁This is our "Second" Check-in for the Month of "DECEMBER"~.... We are about 'Half-way' through the month already?!.... Let's reflect on this Month so far... How have you been personally feeling this Holiday Season?.... And how are you feeling as another year gets closer to coming to an end?... Are these things affecting or impacting your overall wellbeing in any way? If so, in what ways? We are about 'Half-way' through the month already?!.... Let's reflect on this Month so far...
How have you been personally feeling this Holiday Season?.... I was feeling ok until the creepy guy had to be escorted out by police. I can't remember if I told you or not. Another man chose to urinate in the hallway, so he had to be banned. He showed up the very mext day and had to be reminded that he is not allowed in. Another man showed up and caused problems.
And how are you feeling as another year gets closer to coming to an end?... I feel like I have been lied to. I spoke to the head librarian this Thursday and told her that I am looking for another job due to the danger there. I asked if she would be a reference and she said yes. Both of my bosses are leaving. I don't know if I told you that. I asked her if her replacements know about the dangers at that location, and she said no. Neither of the ladies replacing my boss and the head librarian have not been told about the danger, just like me. I was not told that I was being hired into a location with such danger. I couldn't go to work today. I called off.
Are these things affecting or impacting your overall wellbeing in any way? Wow, yes.
If so, in what ways? I'm considering talking to a lawyer. I want out of this job, but I cannot afford to move.
🎅As we get closer to the New Year, let's make these last few weeks of the month count~... What is "ONE" small & attainable goal that you could set for yourself in the next week ahead?! Doing well in school and hanging in there at work.
🎄JUST FOR FUN:.. If you were Santa, What Kind of Cookies would you want left for you?!~ Girl Scout Cookies
🎁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! Please read above for the struggles. I just tried to stay calm.
@purpleTree4652
Hi Tree~
Yes you did in fact mention several of these things in your prior posts.. And it definitely seems like you are unhappy in your recent work position... And “feeling like you’ve been lied to” is most likely making the situations at your workplace feel even more difficult… (Which in turn will continue to cause you to feel only more resentment in being there), & in your feelings towards those continuing to come in, but as well as all the situations that you seemingly can’t change there at this time….So it’s understandable that you called-off due to your feelings about it all.
But It’s good that the head librarian is willing to vouch for you and be a reference as you continue to look for other employment… And getting a consultation with a lawyer about what to do next is something to definitely think on.. You might be able to get one if not free of charge, at least low cost. I had a consultation regarding a matter about 2 years ago & it cost me about $100 just for their time...As You know in this day & age everyone wants to get paid. 😐 …But having to continue to work in an undesirable work environment can definitely cause negative side effects & stressors. Which of course isn’t conducive to your overall wellbeing.
In the meantime, I think having that “small & attainable” goal to work towards & focus on over the course of the next week of (doing well in school & continuing to hang in at work), are great things to focus your energy & thoughts on. Your schooling is very important and will help to continue to propel you to where you desire to be in your life. You can only continue to take things day by day. So hang in there.
And thank you for checking in to share this week. And keep us posted on how things continue to come along.
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Sunday night I heard gunshots. Just another day in da hood. My book "Madame Bovary" arrived. I'm very excited about it. I've been wanting to read Flaubert for a long time. Tuesday my anxiety got to me. My new shoes arrived. After using Salicylic acid pads on my nose I use my spray on moisterizer. Woohoo I smell like cucumber 🥒. Thursday I went to the library but I forgot my book because I was so distressed about things going on around the house. I went grocery shopping and I used the self-check out. I'm very proud of myself. Leslie/Sifa improved the lighting in the kitchen. I wish they had done that 18 months ago. Friday morning I had to listen to someone throw up in the bathroom. Friday I came down with miscellaneous stomach bug. I had an intense hot flash for 10 minutes. Friday morning I threw up on my bedroom floor. I asked Tai, Sifa and Leslie to clean it up and they said they couldn't. Another example of Leslie being a horrible person. She doesn't care about sick people she exploits sick people. Tunde said he's going to come over Saturday afternoon and clean it up. It's just a little mess, not a big mess. You can hardly see it at all. My new Photo ID arrived. My brother Greg doesn't know why I need a photo ID. What an idiot.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ That’s good that your book arrived for you. And you definitely seem excited about it. And that you also got new shoes… (I love getting new shoes)!.. it’s also good that despite the anxieties that you were feeling on Tuesday that you continued to practice some selfcare by doing a skin regimen. I’m sure that felt good… It’s also great that you were able to get out for groceries, use the self checkout, & get to the library, despite the home stressors & forgetting your book…Good for you & great job on your efforts. And good news on the better “lighting” in the house. I’m sure that was helpful to you…. Perhaps your (miscellaneous stomach bug) was from whoever threw up in the bathroom?! It definitely sounds like Leslie has her issues and like the people that she has roaming around there to help her aren’t doing much better. That’s the sad (& bad) thing about these types of places & so-called caregivers…. It’s a good thing you have Tunde to help you out. Hopefully for you that things are feeling better. Handwashing & sanitation are everything when so many others are in the house & living together. Congrats on your new ID. Im sure you are feeling good about having it…, Thanks for checking in to share your week and please keep us apprised on how things are continuing to go.
I missed last weeks postings altogether due to some medical issues......I won't go into details, but it has to do with being male and the aging process.....I had a terrible weekend last week and did all I could to make it through work Saturday and just laid around and survived on Sunday. It should be noted that I've been having issue for some time with this problem but this past weekend, I think it came to the point where I was forced to see the dr, and the Drs were forced to stop "monitoring" and actually do something about it..... Monday I saw the doctor and was placed on a medication that I will probably be on for some time("may refill 11 times" on a 30 day prescription didn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy)....I spent the rest of the week taking it easy and seeing how this new med made me feel since they all have a laundry list of side effects....anyway....lets get on with answering these questions.....
Hey Everyone~ Welcome to the weekend~ How was your week?... And what is something that went Well for you? After a terrible weekend health wise, I was struggling terribly to find something positive.....I guess the fact that I was able to continue to work and not be laid up at home is something that went well for me.....I am, however, still not able to ride my spin bike, which is my favorite type of cardio workout....but I am able to do some workouts which is better than nothing.....
🎁This is our "Second" Check-in for the Month of "DECEMBER"~.... We are about 'Half-way' through the month already?!.... Let's reflect on this Month so far... How have you been personally feeling this Holiday Season?....As far as "Holiday" goes, I'm mentally and emotionally status quo if that makes sense....I do have ideas and plans to make some changes in my life, but I don't really do the "new year new me, resolution" things....I just want to start now so I'm trying to figure a plan to make my ideas work
🎅As we get closer to the New Year, let's make these last few weeks of the month count~... What is "ONE" small & attainable goal that you could set for yourself in the next week ahead?! I have a large goal of completely changing my diet so my small attainable goal is to start the research process and look into what it all entails....right now I just eat what I want when I want....I don't think I eat a lot of junk food and my diet is terrible, but there is room for improvement....I want to try an "anti-inflammatory" diet and eat more natural anti-inflammatory foods.....I also found out my LDL numbers are borderline high so I need to change my diet to try to cut that off at the pass....
🎄JUST FOR FUN:.. If you were Santa, What Kind of Cookies would you want left for you?!~ Geez, here I am thinking about changing my diet and you throw a cookie question at me....lol....to answer the queston, I wouldn't want cookies....I'm a big "peppermint bark" guy when it comes to holiday treats....
🎁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! see above for the answers....
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there Cycling 🚴 ~
I was definitely wondering why we didn’t hear from you last week, & So sorry to hear for you that you are dealing with some medical issues. I know as we age that can be a challenging thing. As well as affect our overall wellbeing mentally & emotionally. I do hope that things are going better & will keep you in my thoughts that all will be well with things for you going forward.~
But Im glad to hear that things are being treated & that you were able to spend the rest of the week taking it easy. Hopefully you found that the meds weren’t too bad, and that in the meantime do the job they are prescribed to do for you!
I’m also glad for you that you were still able to work (which I would consider a plus & a positive)!, and that despite not being able to “cycle” like you desired, that you were able to find something that worked for you! And yes I’d have to agree that it’s better than nothing…. (My knees were so shot & out of whack this time last year that I had to conform to chair workouts here & there where I could just to get activity in at times)…So Any movement is definitely better than none! So great job to you there.
I think it’s great that you have ideas & plans in place on the changes you’d like to make for yourself. And you don’t have to have all the answers right now…. Just working towards things is enough… And It’s wonderful that you are going to start by looking into your diet, and that you want to make some improvements to it. There’s always room for improvement as they say! I think the more you work towards that & figure out things for yourself that you will start seeing the changes that you want. Diet really is everything.
Haha…. 😂… the cookie question!… well at least you have a good start to your diet and was able to pass up the cookies for some peppermint bark! Not too shabby.
Thank you for taking some time to check in this week to keep us updated on things. And to let us know that you are doing okay! I get concerned when I don’t see the regulars every week! …. Im glad you’re hanging in there, and please continue to let us know how you are doing and how things are going for you!
