Introducing Group Support Mentor: Role & Application
Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. Thank you for your compassionate presence and support to each other in the Group chats.
I am excited to introduce the Group Support Mentor (GSM) role.
The key goals of GSM introduction:
- A unified and simple structure of mentor roles in the Group Support Leadership hierarchy.
- Merged the Support Room Mentor/ Support Team Leader and Group Support Quality Mentor into one for better understanding.
- Offers more opportunities to explore through key tracks.

- Buddying new Room Supporters, Mods, and other group leaders
- Leading Skills discussions to empower group chat leaders
- Community meetings & feedback
- Managing general group support resources (including scripts)
- Welcoming and recruiting new group support leaders

@ASilentObserver
Well-explained, thank you for posting, Obziee!
@ASilentObserver
Thank you for posting this, Obs! Excited to see how this change benefits the community and GS Team! 💜 A great, simplified and easy process now!
@ASilentObserver Thanks Obs, this makes things much clearer. Can I ask though do the current STM or STL's, those of us that lead a team, need to reapply?
@MistyMagic
No, Misty! People who were already STLs/STMs can message Obs or me, and we will appoint them as Group Support Mentor for the community they used to lead before.
@Suryansh awesome, good to know!
@ASilentObserver
I applied!
@Antonio7Cups awesome, thank you Antonio. I will review and get back to you with further information. Appreciate your willingness.
