My cat
My cat was recently critically ill. After a stressful journey of complications over several months, she's navigated the final hurdle of a risky operation and is recovering.
A few people on 7 cups have kindly listened and supported during the moments when we thought we were going to lose her. To thank them I create this post, so they can see what they have helped with.
This is my cat, enjoying the simple pleasure of sitting in the sun with friends, on the first day when she was allowed out again after the operation.
The beginning of the rest of her life.

Aww sooo good to hear your cat is recovering. Understandable the kind of anticipated grief and heartbreak you must've been through seeing her struggle to be okay. :/ Sending virtual kitty treats for her and hugs for you.❤
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
Thanks. You got it so right with the anticipated grief and heartache. Plenty of fear too, that we might make the wrong decision.
But then, lots of relief and hope as she made it through each hurdle.
Today is check up and stitches out. (The ones she hasn't pulled out herself yet, lol.)
@Clio9876
Aw yes indeed, lots of fear too. :/
I'm sooo glad y'all could breathe some relief now and sending her the speediest recovery beams.🌻
(Kitty cat did a vv kitty cat thing so we cannot really comment on that lol😭) How did today go for y'all?
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
The stitches came out. 🥳
But she might need a small follow up op. It seems like there might be a small hernia due to the op. A complication we could have done without. But it should be much quicker, less serious and less risky than the original op, so less stressful, at least for us.
It's also not urgent, so one option might be to wait and see.
@Clio9876
Aw I'm glad they did. *yays*
Gosh, that's so unfortunate :/ what do the doctors suggest? Sending the bestest possible vibes y'alls way to shush out all negative-thoughts and energy!
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
Thanks.
She had the second op. It all went well. And you could see how much better she was feeling as she was much less patient about being shut in this time. But we got through it. And the second lot of stitches are now out. And she's pretty much leading a normal life. Some confidence to regain, lots of hair to regrow and somehow I need to reclaim the middle spot on the bed, lol.
So, huge sigh of relief and on to the next thing. I still can't quite believe we've gone from "she's critical and treatment is unlikely to be successful", to, "she could have another 8 years". So lucky.
@Clio9876 I’m so glad to hear that your cat is recovering after such a challenging time. It must have been incredibly stressful for both of you.
