Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. This post is part of the  Group Support Event- Reflection Week with 7 Cups. This discussion is intended to explore gratitude and reflect on the positive aspects of our life experiences.

When we talk about core values, we mean fundamental beliefs or principles that guide an individual's behavior. Core values represent what is important and meaningful and help shape decisions, actions, and character.

Core values help you with the following:

  • Provide a clear framework for evaluating choices to make decisions.
  • Serve as a powerful source of motivation and inspiration.
  • Build trust and strong relationships with others.
  • Provide a moral compass, guiding individuals to make ethical choices and avoid actions that may be harmful or unethical.

So, let's share and discuss your core values and how they guide your decisions and actions. Join us and share your reflections on growth, resilience, and appreciation.

@ASilentObserver I guess my core values and beliefs are firstly to be kind, you don't what people have been through and still are, so don't judge anyone and always be kind. Also laughter is the best medicine, and gratitude is very important ❤❤

@Tinywhisper11 It is nice, tiny. I appreciate and admire that your core values are deeply rooted in empathy and a desire for a kinder world. I am glad you prioritize kindness and understanding. You are so right that we all carry our own struggles and challenges and have our own journeys. If okay to ask, can you share a specific time when you practiced it?

@ASilentObserver today 😁 I replied to a lot of people's posts, hopefully with kindness and understanding ❤ also put another post in the icecbreaker/games forums, hopefully spread a few smiles and giggles around😁 and gratitude is always strong in my heart ❤ and yesterday, because I live in a old folks nursing home. I sat with a lady who came back a few days ago from spending the holidays with her daughter and grandkids🙂 she loved to talk and show me photos, they all love to talk😂😂 but I like to hear their stories, and they like company and someone to talk to ❤

@ASilentObserver

my core values revolve around key words in my life that help me maintain inner and outer wellness - positivity, compassion, kindness, caring, concerned, friendly and helpful, to start things off!

my core values are also associated with maintaining good personal relationships in my life that will put me in situations in my life that help me to be productive!

Happy New Year 2025 to all of my friends on 7 Cups!

@ASilentObserver

Below are my core values which I strive to uphold. I posted them some time ago in the poetry forum, so I hope you do not mind me sharing them here. I would like to think that I do not stray too far from their precepts, but I have this as a mantra if I might ever wobble.

Be Just in both thought and deed:

Do not wait in expectation nor judge by comparison.

The moral path you set yourself, paved not by what others have done.

Defend with zeal those in need:

Heed the call when others cry, for it is then they need your might.

Remember that but for blind chance it could be you lost to the night.

Be brave as you proceed:

Courage should be wise, not reckless. Face down doubt as you explore.

Live with conviction and with passion. When afraid, take one step more.

Let compassion take the lead

Your strengths, for good must be used at every opportunity.

If none arises, go and seek it, both kindly and prudently.

Be Respectful through your creed:

There is no grounds to prove dominion, no reason to be cruel.

Nobility is behaviour's mirror and dignity its Jewel.

Stay Honest, never mislead

Voice truth but ever mindful your words do not a blade become.

Live so that you need never promise - Speaking is the same as done.

Be Loyal and to your heart heed:

Remain true to those you pledge or have responsibility.

For those you care, give all your heart, open and unreservedly.

Your Self-Control, do not cede:

Show tolerance and patience both. Endure, forbear, swallow dread.

Bear the unbearable. Let your heart guide but by your reason tread.

Honour is a precious Seed:

By your acts your worth is weighed. They pass yet their effects remain.

Betray not your principles, then no indignity can ever stain.

My core values are honesty, kindness and compassion. It is really important to tell the truth otherwise I find myself going in the wrong direction. Acts of kindness, active listening, being empathetic and compassionate to a person in need are some of my other core values. These open my mind to think out of the box. Sufferings in fact bring future happiness.

@Admirablerainbow2825 thank you rainbow for your reflection share. Those are some beautiful set of core values. Though it is fascinating that you believe "Sufferings in fact bring future happiness." Can you please share more on this?
