Dinner With Our Alumni: kieran000
Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing wonderful this fine Tuesday I am excited to present the Dinner With Our Alumni series for the Group Leadership Development and Dynamics (GLDD) program! For those that don't know, this is a short interview series where I will host interviews with our leaders who graduated from the GLDD program. The aim is to spread more awareness about the program and hopefully everyone can give it a read!
Our very first GLDD graduate for this dinner is: @kieran000
@kieran000, or Key-Ran, has been a teen listener on here since January 2019. For those that know him, he will poke you, call you an oldie if you are not a teen (also called me a potato once xD), but despite all that he will quite literally make your day! He loves being here and loves helping others.
What was on the menu? Some chicken for Key-ran, but some hummus for me!
Here's what he had to say:
What made you join the GLDD program?
I joined the program as I am always in the group support rooms, so I feel it was a great program for me as it is focused on group support.
I see that one of the GLDD requirements was to host discussions. What did you like about that the most?
I hosted sharing circles and many other discussions, I liked doing that, it was really fun getting to host discussions and also helped me get to know others in the support rooms.
How was your experience doing the program?
My experience in the program was amazing, the leader of it was very helpful in answering all my questions (I had many) with accurate answers. And it got me more interested in supporting the group rooms.
Which is your favorite activity in the program?
My favorite activity in the program was hosting discussions, they were fun and helpful to do since I was fairly new to the chat rooms back then, so it helped me be introduced to everyone there.
What’s the one thing you learned that you will always remember?
A lot of information in the forum discussions was very interesting, I learned lots of important stuff about supporting others within a group, which I feel I will always remember.
What advice would you give to a new GLDD trainee?
Hmm, maybe that it’s okay to ask questions, as leaders are there for a reason, to help you improve, so I’m sure they won’t be annoyed if you think you’re being annoying with all your questions :p
How can mentors offer better support for the program?
I’m not sure, with the experience I had, there were no mentors, as I was in the first group to complete the program, the leader of the program helped me a lot, so I just hope that each mentor now can help others in that same way.
If you could change one thing about the program, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything, I think it’s awesome. (One way to impress @Asilentobserver and @Asher xD)
Thank you for reading till here! I would love to hear any suggestions/question ideas that I can add to this series. If you are a GLDD graduate and would love to contribute, please PM me so we can set up our dinner! Meanwhile, please give a big shout-out to @kieran000 for doing this!

Wonderful interview. Kieran, the man with a dozen names, definitely does a great job in the group chatrooms. He's always active, supportive, and helping others. He's also known for joking around and playing with us, as well as becoming a big joke himself lol. And he's definitely famous for giving people new names (He himself has a thousand names XD). We all have fun when he's around. He's definitely a great guy. We all love to see him around.❤😊
