How to Know a Person
I saw this author talk about his book on Ewww-tube (I only said it like that because I think the word might get censored). The title is what grabbed me (see below with link). I have experienced seeing others more deeply (to a small extent) and it really did change at least what I know is possible with human connection. When you’re able to see others deeply they respond in wonderful ways. Tagging @tryingtosurvive2024
How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen
@PineTreeTree ewwwtube haha!😂😂😂 I'm not allowed to use ewwwtube, so I can't click that link. But I believe through listening and kindness, and a bit of goofyness and honesty we can learn a person most ❤ wow! That's quite a long list to get to know someone. Maybe we should just shake hands and call it a day😁
@Tinywhisper11 Or you could just walk up to them and give them a hug. 😊
@tryingtosurvive2024 hugs are much better 😁 ❤ rolls up to you and hugs you tightly ❤
@Tinywhisper11 I think you ran me over. 🤗
@tryingtosurvive2024 😂😂😂😂😂 my brakes don't work to good in these icy conditions😂😂😂♿♿♿♿♿
@Tinywhisper11 I once told a woman, (online) if you want a man all you got to do is get a tranquilizer. Find a man you like, and .... 😜
@tryingtosurvive2024 tranquilizer🤔🤔🤔 don't put ideas in my head!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Tinywhisper11 Don't worry. That is just my sense of humor. 🤗 I think you should just stick to running them over. Just kidding! 😉
@tryingtosurvive2024 😂😂😂 to late I just bought myself a tranquilizer gun😂😂😂 I'm glad I have lots of room in my basement😁😁😁
@Tinywhisper11 I think you are a very sweet Woman, and whoever gets tranquilized, is a lucky man! 💖
@tryingtosurvive2024 😂😂😂😂😂😂 your so sweet ❤❤
@Tinywhisper11 I have been thinking about writing a post about that. Because currently there is 2 people online that call me "Sweetie" and one of the two almost calls me that exclusively. If you start doing it, then that will make three people. 🤪 I enjoy being sweet. But it takes the kindness of the other person to make that work in a full circle. 😊
@tryingtosurvive2024 I call you sweetie, cause you are so sweet😋
@Tinywhisper11 If I were any sweeter I'd be sticky. 😍
@PineTreeTree Thank you for thinking of me. I will watch or listen to it. But it will be a while since it is 57 minutes long.
@PineTreeTree While listing to it I thought about C.S. Lewis because I have many books by him. I was thinking about Choosing Your Faith by Mark Mittelberg. It is an audio book that I am re listening too. Basically I agree with David Brooks. But I think about the real world. The world I live in. If I was around people a lot, outside of work, then maybe his suggestions would work. But I'm never around anyone outside of work anymore. Grocery store but nobody carries on a conversation there.
@tryingtosurvive2024 Not all rewarding human connections require conversation. Seeing others is a skill and it can give us opportunities we can’t imagine. Even in the grocery store! In fact it is a skill that is really easy to practice in places like grocery stores.
@PineTreeTree I don't know what you mean. Everyone is absolutely silent at my grocery store. They don't make eye contact or anything.
@tryingtosurvive2024 No one makes eye contact with anyone? At all? Do you live in a dangerous neighborhood?
@tryingtosurvive2024 Well their making eye contact or not may not be important. See if you can silently guess what they are feeling. Are they calm, tense, bored, anxious or some other emotion. See if your act of noticing them changes your experience of visiting the grocery store. But try to do this without any expectations of what will happen.
