How do You Know if You Have an Eating Disorder?
As the title says, how do you know? How bad does it have to be before it is concedered and eating disorder? For instance I eat maybe once a day but what I eat is usually something that's not healthy such as something sweet. and the only things I drink are milk and pop, I know that everyone is supposed to drink water but it just tastes nasty to me and it makes my throat hurt (i dunno why tho). So yeah there's that and if anyone thinks I do have an eating disorder please colabarate as to which one you think I have. Much love!
@PansexualVirgo I have had problems with eating since I was 13, I'm 22 now. It's weird bc I didn't consider it an eating disorder before I stopped eating all together and got admitted to a hospital. But you know what? I still got an ED, and bc I'm not skinny enough I can't get any help :S
@EvilRegalsReadToo have you talked with your doctor?
@lovelypomelo what about drinking fluids ... my daughter struggles with drinking fluids and not eating ... how much fluids can we survive with?
@lovelypomelo I talked to the local ED center twice, through my doctor and therapist, but apparently I am not skinny enough to get help :3
@EvilRegalsReadToo that is not right .... when you want help but cant ... I am sorry
@EvilRegalsReadToo
I'm really sorry to hear that you have been denied the treatment that you deserve. I would like to help you in any way that I can, please reach out to me for a chat session if you need someone to talk to.

@PansexualVirgo thank you for your question.
As I'm sure other listeners will tell you, it is hard to tell if that is an eating disorder. I would say that when recognising an eating disorder it is important to look further than just what we eat or drink, we also need to think about why we do that and how we feel. It is fairly likely that what you have described is a pattern of disordered eating, reaching out for support now might stop that from becoming a full blown eating disorder- early intervention is key to full recovery.
To help answer your question you could research different eating disorders and find out more about disordered eating. You can connect with myself or any other listener on 7 cups of tea, we will be able to help you explore this question better and support you. However, 7 cups listeners are not trained to provide a diagnosis.
I hope this answers your question,
Emi
