Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me some of the early signs of restrictive patterns/possible binge patterns. I've been losing weight, which is important for my health disorders... but, I don't know, it's almost becoming hard for me to eat now.. like I just do not enjoy it in any sense anymore and, it's not coming from a depressed place... It's.. I don't know how to feel. I do still eat, but probably not enough, and then I'll eat more at a time than I should.. and I know that doesn't sound too great, but, I'm very sedentary also due to my health conditions, so it is important that I try not to eat too much.. I'm just kind of asking for a check in. I guess I'm wondering what are the big red flags to look out for?

@memyselfandmoth Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this challenging time. It's really great that reached out for a check-in and are seeking information about the signs you're experiencing. It's essential to be aware of any potential patterns that might affect your health. From what you've described, it does sound like you're going through some challenges with your eating habits.

Some early signs of restrictive patterns or possible binge patterns include:

Drastic changes in eating habits, such as avoiding certain food groups or drastically reducing caloric intake.

Obsessive thoughts about food, weight, or body image.

Feeling guilty or anxious after eating.

Episodes of consuming larger amounts of food than usual in a short period.

Eating in secret or isolating yourself during meals.

Frequent fluctuations in weight.

Using food as a coping mechanism for emotions.

Feeling a loss of enjoyment or pleasure in eating.

If you notice any of these signs or have concerns about your eating habits, it might be beneficial to reach out to a healthcare professional, or a licensed therapist who specializes in eating disorders. They can provide you with guidance and support tailored to your specific health conditions and needs.

Remember, seeking support and being proactive about your well-being are positive steps. If you have any further concerns or questions, feel free to share them. Take care!

@memyselfandmoth

I'm really glad you reached out. @Mya000 gave you great feedback and warning signs. Definitely I agree if you are seeing symptoms to check with your doctor.

Also, NEDA has an Eating Disorder Screening that you might want to check out.

It's good that you are taking care of you and paying attention to your body needs.
