i cant stop overeating

niceOwl5018 February 9th

I am obese at 17 5'2 and <edit> . I always feel bad after consuming junk food.

and I carry on doing so, repeating the cycle. each day, after which I make an effort not to eat

Either put it in writing why I shouldn't eat, or quit doing this, that, etc. But it's all for nothing.

I just can't stress myself out to not eat whatever is available, after all, I live with my family. I've been training for the past two years, but despite this, I haven't noticed any really big changes—overeating is still a problem. I'm exhausted from these sugar and junkie cravings, and I can't stop my mind from storing them. however, if I had no money I give shoplifting a shot and then regret it. I have no idea how to stop my cravings, and none of the media's advice has ever been able to help. I feel like I'm failing myself right now, and I'm not sure what to do.

Is there anyone who has been in a similar situation as me but has succeeded? If yes, tell us how you think Yaal overcame it.

@niceOwl5018 Hey this sounds like something you need to speak with you doctor and find a treatment. Doing this as soon as possible is better than doing it later. Maybe you can talk to someone about it and they can help you by stopping you. The quicker you get a treatment to resolve it the better you'll feel. Don't get too focused on it because it'll get better. I wish you the best.

@niceOwl5018 Hey there sorry for the late reply, I am not super good at giving medical advice and just wanted to give a suggestion that could help and also give you a moral boost and to let you know that you can overcome this. From what i found in the internet is that you can consult a bariatrician, they have diet plans and such, also you can join a group of people with your same problem and they could help you (maybe). Of course don't starve yourself but eat enough that your body needs but not too much that it can harm you. I hope that you can get through this and that everything will be better.

There are many people who struggle with eating as you describe.  Have you noticed anything that precipitates your eating like this?  For example, situations, emotions and such?

I'm really glad you posted, because it's not easy to regulate eating.  It's not like there is the ability to do without food and just stop eating.  There are certain foods that we can gravitate toward, though they may be different for everyone.

Have you talked to a professional about your eating?  Perhaps a therapist, your family physician, or a dietitian who is familiar with eating disorders?  There are programs that will do an assessment to help you determine if you need treatment for your eating.  Some programs offer free assessments as well.

@KristenHR

When I feel unsure about my emotions, I often find myself succumbing to a cycle where I eat something I know I shouldn't have, feel guilty afterward, and then repeat the behavior.

I haven't sought advice from medical or psychological professionals. Can I access support programs online or in-person?

There are actually programs both in-person and online that you can seek help from.  There are many virtual treatment providers, and support groups in addition to support here.

Have you considered that there is no bad food unless you might be allergic to it?
