Undiagnosed Hearing Loss
Hi! Ive recently been diagnosed with hearing loss (15% conversation level in left ear and 30% in the right) and we dont know why. I had a hearing assessment and my cochlear nerves are fine, my brain scan came back normal and it seems like all the doctors have sorta given up on me. They cant figure out whats going on, no liquid, no earwax, no tumor on the MRI and they all just assume Im lying. Ive also got tinnitus, a bad sensitivty to light, things disappear 8 inches away from my face and my balance and coordination skills are a wreck. Its really stressful and hard to try and talk to someone about this because no one can relate! I just want to get peoples thoughts and ideas on the situation. Was there some magical breakthrough for you or do you still not know? Have you had a situation like this? Anything and I mean ANYTHING will be appreciated!! Thanks
it must be very hard to deal with, mainly not knowning the reason, its very annoying :(

I wish I knew what was wrong with me. Out of the blue I developed tinnitus in my ears after my car accident. I did not hit my head or anything either. I think the stress and trauma of the situation triggered it. I highly suspect I damaged my ear because I experience vertigo as well. The constant ringing is driving me insane. Who knows what really causes this, mine happened too spontaneously to be evaluated. Now I wonder if l'm going deaf too. I know how horrible it feels. I gotta press my right ear against the cell just to hear the person speak on the other end. Thank God for texting, it requires no auditory or verbal communication.😉

I dont know why you would have trouble with your hearing if you didn't have any trauma to your head during the accident. Being exposed to loud noises for extended periods and trauma to the head can cause hearing loss, thats what happened to me. But it really sucks. I can't imagine not knowing what caused it either.
@YellowButterScotch hey there just wondering what has been happening since you posted this, we'd love an update.
