Huddles - Chronic Pain & Disability [with FrenchMarbles & AffyAyo]

Hello community,

My name is FrenchMarbles, and I’m a facilitator for the Disability Huddles along with the Chronic Pain Huddles with the iconic @AffyAyo who will be co-facilitating this with me.

Let me explain a little about how it works, it’s like a group meeting once a week. It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with the same people on a weekly basis and it’s a chance to sit down for an hour and talk about our issues relating to disability/chronic pain. As you will know, disability and pain affect all of us differently, some of us have it easy, and some of us have it hard. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could share our experience with our disability and educate others about what we go through?

For example, so I’m Profoundly Deaf, but I face difficulty in life and it’s hard to talk sometimes about how it impacts me but when I do meet others who have something like me, I learn from them, I know from the interaction, and it enables me to build skills so that when I feel frustration, I can use my newly learnt skills to handle it.

This will be split into two separate huddles;

• Disability Support [Mondays 2 pm to 3 pm ET]
• Chronic Pain Support [Thursdays 4 pm to 5 pm ET]

This will be once a week, and we're accepting new applications for those who want to join us for the next eight weeks. I'm excited to be working with Affy on this.
