@AffyAvo Thanks for making this thread, Affy
I'm not in school any more but when I was it was a struggle. I wasn't diagnosed with what I am now. Had I been, I may of had the accommodations that I needed.
If you're in school still, something I would really encourage you to do is speak up and ask for the things you're needing. If you're struggling, its okay to ask for help!
I am in school. I'm a sophmore in high school with a jam-packed schedule.
I have a 504 and that takes care of most of it. My biggest issues are currently joint issues and brain fog. Thankfully I'm not in gym right now, but I will be next semester. Brain fog is super annoying.
Right now I'm also super tired from an antibiotic that I'll be off of in like 10 days finally.
Are you in school this September? No, I am not in school right now.
Do you have any concerns due to a disability? No
For everyone, even if not in school now - what did you struggle with in school? I struggled with understanding information and my eyes didn't work together which is an eye-tracking issue I made a post about this and if you want to know more feel free to ask me.
What tips do you have for current students? Please use your accommodations and if you have meetings go to them and if you think you dont need something tell them. I know it is scary but it is worth it. Feel free to ask me questions.
@Plantsaremybestfriends
I have a hard time with deadlines too. I am here for you
@AffyAvo Just re-living this post as it's that time again! I think that schools have improved massively in the way they help and support those with disabilities, chronic conditions or any kind of difficulty at school.
With technological advances it means that there is a lot more help with tablets and classes too?
What does everyone use at school now? Are there even paper books ?
