Our next Question everyone
9. It is said that music can help even people with learning disability, do you think there should be more opportunities for people with disabilities to benefit from it? How could these opportunities look like?
10. Do you feel those with Disabilities feel left out when it comes to parties being set up? invites sent out and should be more included?
11. Music can be something to enjoy alone or in company. In what way do you enjoy it?

9. Ideally, yes. There are already a fair number of ways though, and I think there are bigger issues, so it's not really something I think that needs to be now, money, time and effort should be focused on some other vital issues first.
10. Yes, sometimes it's hard for this to be avoided. Ie. it may be way easier and cheaper for someone to host at home, but their home may have accessibility issues. In general, it's great if people can be inclusive to everyone they would consider for their guest list, but it's not always possible. As an example, this weekend, I am going somewhere where I will have to be outside the entire time. There is an outdoor pool changeroom/washroom, so I have that accessible to me. If the weather was going to be poor though, I wouldn't go as a) I don't want to be stuck in crappy weather outside b) I don't expect others to stay outside if it was like that, I expect they would move the party inside.
11. I feel like I covered that already. I used to play, I used to go dancing quite regularly. I enjoy listening in general.
9. It is said that music can help even people with learning disability, do you think there should be more opportunities for people with disabilities to benefit from it? How could these opportunities look like?
I think that music can definitely benefit any person, disabled or not, in a variety of ways - stress reduction, development of neural synapses that might not form otherwise, etc. I have a nephew who is having difficulty in learning to speak clearly. I have suggested to his mother that music lessons - particularly if he is encouraged to sing, might help him. I am pretty sure that Ed Sheeran had a stutter when he was younger and I wouldn't doubt that music helped him to overcome that. Even if it wasn't directly due to playing or singing, doing those things would have given him a boost in self-confidence. My mother also frequently tells a story about a guy she saw on tv years ago...he had a stutter, but if he drew circles in the air while he talked, the stutter stopped. So I think unconventional approaches to helping people to learn or overcome their difficulties are worth looking into - you never know what might help. Music can definitely be a part of that. I know that music programs in schools are often under-funded or discontinued, and this is something that should be fixed. This is creating missed opportunities for children who might thrive if exposed to music.
10. Do you feel those with Disabilities feel left out when it comes to parties being set up? invites sent out and should be more included?
I definitely believe that those with disabilities feel left out in these situations. Generally if there is some kind of party happening, every kid in the class, or person in the office, knows about it. Those who aren't invited are going to feel left out, even if they didn't really want to go. I think many people might be intimidated by not knowing how to make their parties accessible, but they should take the initiative to ask if they don't know. Likewise, sometimes if you have a disability it might be uncomfortable, but advocating for yourself might not only make things easier on you, but effect change for other disabled people down the road. Don't be afraid to speak up. It might not always feel like someone is listening, but you never know, you might have found the right set of ears.
11. Music can be something to enjoy alone or in company. In what way do you enjoy it?
I generally enjoy music on my own...but this is mostly because I live alone. I like going to outdoor concerts and music festivals. I think this is the environment where I most like sharing music with people.

12. Do you listen to different kind of music based on your mood and feelings or do you listen to the same one?
I definately listen to different kinds of music based on my mood and feelings at any given time. :)
13. If you were to choose a song that described you as a person or your life what would it be and why?
I can't think of just one song that could describe me as a person, but I could probably come up with a short list that could make a decent sketch... "Through Heaven's Eyes" from 'The Prince of Egypt', "Most Girls" by Hailee Steinfeld, "Awake And Alive" by Skillet, "Praying" by Kesha, "Somebody Else's Song" by Lifehouse, "Winterborn (This Sacrifice)" by The Crüxshadows, "Never Unloved" by Michael W Smith, "Oh My God" by Jars of Clay, "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi, "Strangers Like Me" by Phil Collins.
Ok, so maybe that wasn't so short?
@CaringBrit I like birthdays, they are a good reason to get together with friends and family and have fun!
Music is good too, depending on what's occuring though, I don't want it playing all the time. When in a place with many people I find music just adds to noise.
our next question then all and the last one as its very close to the 7th July so posting a few questions to finish
14. Do you have songs that you relate to special moments you experienced in life?
15. Would you prefer to dedicate a song to someone or having someone that does that to you?
16. What would be on your playlist at a party when you have music playing? what artists/songs
17. have you got any questions to ask based on
this topic ? any thing to add etc

12 : Do you listen to different kind of music based on your mood and feelings or do you listen to the same one?
I would say I definitely listen to a different kind of music based on my mood/feelings. And also dependent on what type of activity I might be doing...I can't listen to certain types of music while studying or doing math. If the music is too interesting I start thinking about how I might arrange it differently. If I don't want to get wound up before bed there are also certain things I definitely won't listen to :)
13.if you were to choose a song that described you as a person or your life what would it be and why ?
I am not sure this song exists, but if it did I think the tempo and tone would change a few times, like a person's life.
14. Do you have songs that you relate to special moments you experienced in life?
Yes, and they are not necessarily songs I like...
- Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse....reminds me of working in a call centre. It always played in our canned music playlist.
- Time of Your Life by Green Day...my highschool played this whenever a student died :/
- The Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song...watching tv after school, lol
15. Would you prefer to dedicate a song to someone or having someone that does that to you?
I think I would rather have someone do that for me...although that could be embarassing. Hmm.
16. What would be on your playlist at a party when you have music playing? what artists/songs
What is now called Old School Hip-Hop/R&B...classic rock...some rap...it's hard to say, it would partly depend on who's at the party
If it weren't for music I know I would be dead. Music has kept me to subsist on just barely feeling okay, such as tonight, when otherwise I would not. Birthdays... I don't care for them, because I'm never invited anywhere, nor do my friends ever reach out to me on my birthday. It's just a cold reminder of another year turning as my social isolation continues to increase.
how have you all enjoyed this topic ?
