What is the worst thing anyone has ever said to you?
What other people say and think about us affects us a lot. What is the worst thing anyone has ever said to you that had left you with extreme sadness and low self esteem?
I have borderline personality disorder. I was officially diagnosed recently. My family is very strict. They don't allow me to hang out with boys or go out with my friends. Basically over protective i guess. It turned out for the worse instead of protecting me. I have a younger brother. My mom always favoured him. Never really got along with my mom. Not best friends with her. Im used to keeping my feelings in because my family isnt exactly the open expressive type. This bottled up emotions wrecked my relationships. I became impulsive. ..made many mistakes in respect to people. Got used. Vulnerable. Have very slow self esteem. Grew up having to hear all kinds of sick slangs from my mom. Curses. Repeatedly ignored my existence. Basically my whole self image is disturbed. I've been told on my face by my family and so called friends that i don't know how to handle my own life. My family used to laugh at the fact that i have no friends or incapable of holding onto people. Now i have am explaination to all of these. My borderline personality disorder. I m still coping. Trying to be stronger and build a good self image.

That I should cut down the road not across the street so my worthless ass can just die already.

After attempting to explain depression to someone, having them say I was defective and wanting to die was just evolution weeding out the weak. I may have had people say more pointed or angry things at me ("Then kll yourself alreaady") but this one hurt the most because it made the most sense....it's why I do not want to have children.

It was Charles Darwin who said, "It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." So survival of the fittest has nothing to do with strength or weakness or in their words, "weeding out the weak". The fact that you are still here surviving with depression, does however show how resistant you are. To me, that is exactly what Charles Darwin meant.
We can't always change our life circumstances, but we can decide what to do with the time that is given to us.
