The One Thing I Do When I'm Depressed is...
What is the one thing you do to help yourself feel better when you're experiencing depression? It can be anything at all, even simple things such as a longer warmer shower and listening to music or sounds of nature before bed.
I listen to music, and let my emotions flow. I use that sad energy and feelings to draw and express myself. I also will pet my cat.
I allow the negative thoughts to completely control me. Then I over analysize every detail. The "assuming" opens the door for the anxiety and paranoia to creep right on in. Then, the self isolation puts me in prisoner chains! The debiliating cycle continues on auto repeat!
Listening music and be alone
I shut down... I can't seem to get the motivation to do anything so I distance myself and want to be home bound all the time. Not good when you have responsibilities :(
@proactiveClementine8918
I see what you are saying Clementine. When a person is going through depression it is normal and common to loose the motivation towards things, even those that you've always been passionate about. I've had the exact same experience - lacking energy to fulfill my responsibilites and just wanting to stay indoors, not communicate with anyone! That's terrible.
I found more helpful being alone and think about it
@NattChile
Yes same here. Gives me a chance to reflect (how i reacted and what i could've done better), just to calm myself down and find new ways to deal with the situation.
...withdraw
I reach out to a loved one, listen to music and watch goofy stuff.
Force sleep u til I feel like throwing up.
@PosiPotato
I usually put on some music or I watch a really heartwarming anime or YouTube video.
I write down what I am grateful for.
