Managing negative thoughts
I haven't left my home for 3 months now. I'm currently an intern and one of my requirements for graduation is that I complete articles in training and certifications. I read that on Depression, felt like I was being talked to....lol. One of the ways in overcoming it says "invest in friendship" I also have social anxiety so that's a bit hard for me too. Woke up today and first thing I did was call a friend, I haven't in a while smiled the way I did today. In all, I'm going to see a movie with my friend and it's silly the way I've been feeling ☺ I used to think I was alone (still do in a way) but I've found out that this thought only tends to push people away from me.
When we are depressed, we have negative thoughts about ourselves (self criticism) about the world (General negativity) and about our future (hopelessness) these maintain our depressed mood.
Try and break out of that thought process. It's not easy, i know. I hope you all feel better today! ☺

This is a really nice forum as you have decided to look at depression in a more positive way. Im so proud of you and I hope you keep going. The road wont be easy, it'll be full of hardship but you WILL pull through! Good luck. You can defeat depression.
