How do you get out of bed in the morning?
Waking up and getting out of bed (especially since I'm a university student and I essentially make my own schedule/study time) is the hardest thing.
Trying to wake up at 9, hitting snooze 12 times and barely rolling over at noon, is a constant struggle. I never want to face the day. I just want to stay wrapped up and asleep where I don't have to exist. but the later I wake, the worse I often feel.
So, tell me, what can I do to get myself up? What do you do to get yourself up?
@catsith,
1.go to bed early-try to get at least 7-8 hours sleep.
2. have your dinner early and keep it light. If you are hungry inbetween just have a hot drink and some cookies.
3. Unwind an hour or half an hour before you hit the bed. That includes your computer and handphone. Do light meditation exercises, or listen to soft music.
4. If you have lots of things to do the next day of for the later part of the week , then before you unwind, make a list of things you need to do and stick it on your cupboard or your mirror. Don't keep reminding yourself when you lay down. It's actually like the process of unloading the info from your brain so you brain is not overloaded.
I hope this helps.

I agree with this. I'm no longer in university but Im thinking of how I go to work each day. Its very difficult especially Monday.
But getting plenty of rest, laying out clothes night before,not drinking on a work or school night, yoga before bed too to put you in abetter mood and relax your mind really helps.
Try not to worry about a day that hasn;t even started yet. Just get up and go because if you think about it too much you just wont get out the door,
It is difficult but it can be managed
Love your spirit @Dancersoul . Thank you for sharing.
When I know I want to wake up without too much trouble the next morning, when I'm in bed at night I'll spend a few minutes focusing on the time I would like to be awake. I just say to myself ''I will wake up at 9 and I will get out of bed immediately''. It usually works, though you really have to do it the night before. When I forget or haven't thought about doing it, getting up is a nightmare.
I remember the last time I got out of bed easily- it was a year ago, on the day of an event that I had been sooo looking forward to. Got up smoothly, practicly jumped out of bed.
Since then, things have been going downhill, but it gets a bit easier when you plan to do sth nice and enjoyable the following day. For example, every friday is a ramen day (I love ramen and make it from scratch, waaaay more often than I should). Every saturday is netflix binging day. The last friday night of the month is drinking game night/monopoly night. Those little things help. Getting up doesn't get as easy as one-two-three, but it saves a snooze or two. That is what I do anyways...
Take care, darling! :D
To talk to my lovely boyfriend and to see my kitties.
Also to see the weather (although it's usually raining because I'm in England).
by thinking about the beauty and nature around me. that's how i get out of bed.
Reluctantly, on most mornings. Wanting to go back to sleep, but knowing the phone calls will be starting soon. The worries of the day begin. To learn how to control the worries, maybe I won't feel so defeated before I get started.
I sleep with my dog in the bed with me, so usually I will eventually get up to let him out to go to the bathroom. If I don't have somewhere to go (which I almost never do as I'm unemployed) it usually takes me hours to work up the motivation to get up. I think even when you find something that works, it's still going to be a struggle, unfortunately. But it'll be a bit easier, and you'll do it... and hopefully that will be something that you can say to yourself "hey, I got up! well done, me!"
@catsith
Story of my life right now. Coming to the end of my university tenure and of course stress levels are at a high whilst motivation is at a low.
I guess I get out of bed due to necessity. Knowing I need to be somewhere to do the things I feel like I need to do!
My simple answer is: on the left side, closest to the door.
I know this one so well... but I have to say that after I began with meditation and exercise, it became much easier getting out of bed. I also seem more positive.
What do you do specifically @KMangoMadness
@Ally15 I do a lot of yoga and light work outs. I meditate everyday, for about 5-15 minutes :)
