Depression Daily check in March 9-10th,2021
Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a wonderful,amazing,blessed week!
1.) How are you doing?
2.) What three things have you achieved recently?
3.) What does your dream tomorrow look like?
Don't forget to show yourself some love this week, Treat yourself! You deserve it!
@Goldcherry2113
1.) How are you doing?
My emotions are in shutdown again, but I'm okay. I'm not worried about it; I know that it's my mind's way of trying to protect me, and attempting to fight it is both fruitless and risky. I'm just going to treat it like how I would with an actual power outage: wait it out.
2.) What three things have you achieved recently?
I made a birthday card for one of my cousins, I practiced a self-love exercise, and I've come to the realization that I need to improve on setting boundaries.
3.) What does your dream tomorrow look like?
Just a peaceful day where my mental health is at an acceptable level, really, and finding some time for some activities that I like to do.
Thanks for the check-in; I appreciate you.
@TheAutumnWitch
Lots of wisdom in your first answer this week. I've found that things are not nearly as hard when I see them as cyclical, inevitable phases, or like tides. It feels like it's especially true for women. Time just isn't as linear or standardized as the western world wants it to be.
Good wishes towards you for this tide pattern. ♥
@nordurnStar
Thank you. That's true; sometimes, struggling against it is exactly what makes the occurrence challenging in the first place. No matter how many units of time society may create, none of them can put a finger down on the ebb and flow of emotions.
Again, thank you, and the same to you. (^_^)
I like the power outage idea. I tend to get really frustrated when my emotions shut down. All my friends are crying with relief for getting the first dose of vaccine and for me it barely registers as happy. It is quite annoying. Maybe thinking of it as a brief power outage will help. @TheAutumnWitch

The first time I had an emotional shutdown, it scared me. Now, as sad as it may be to say, I'm used to having it happen. I'm sorry that you're going through that annoyance. I do hope that the power outage visualization will help. Thank you for replying to me, and I wish you all the best!
1) How are you doing? Not good. Just cried while writing an e-mail to my cousin. I can't love my family. If I start to show my affection, they hurt me. Mostly unconsciously. 2) What three things have you achieved recently? I've started to learn Swedish. It makes me feeling good. I've started to count my calories. I've been searching for a job. 3) What does your dream tomorrow look like? Waking up in a better place where everyone likes me.
I am so sorry that you are having trouble with family right now. Sometimes they don't understand what you are going through. @gva1audi
@Goldcherry2113
Not that well . I need to take a tough decision regarding my career but just don't have the mental strength to do so . Have delayed and procrastinated for far too long . Can't afford further more delays.
What decision are you trying to make?@calmsoulmeet
@bestVase7265
So basically I completed my graduation in 2014 . After that I searched for jobs for couple of years but due to recession and all couldn't find any . So since then I have been working alongside my father in his business . He owns a little shop and I have been working there . Unfortunately , I am not that interested in it . I am looking and searching for other options but haven't found one which interests me . There are some jobs available but the payscale isnt much and I am not that interested in any of them . So thats the issue.
Another huge problem that I am experiencing is that I have lost interest from all possible career paths . It could be due to depression I guess . But I need to "force" myself to do something . Can't give excuses all the time .
It probably is due to the depression and a lack of confidence which goes along with it. Your brain has probably turned off your ability to like things because of the fear beneath. It might be good to just try something new to force the issue. If you don't like it after 6 months, try again. Each time you will be learning about yourself. Nothing is a waste. @calmsoulmeet
@bestVase7265
I agree . But it's really a huge leap for me . I lack the courage to take that step .
What does the first step in the process look like? Identify just that. Don't think any further than one step. @calmsoulmeet
Hi guys just wanted to check in and say I am doing okay I am practicing being more mindful and aware of my thoughts and feelings this week as recently I have found myself shutting down and turning out instead of sitting with it all. I have achieved this week getting back onto my fitness regime I did an online Zumba class on Monday and went for a walk yesterday so that’s a positive thing and I have started journaling and writing gratitude lists every day which has also been helpful. My dream tomorrow would be that my boyfriend would be here (we are long distance right now which sucks) and we would have a productive day at work and then be able to come home together to chill and relax and I would be happy! One day 🤞
You will be back together one day. Until then it sounds like you are doing great things. @socialite777
1. Really bad and tired 2. Nothing 3. Have a nice job and have a family
Sending peace. @amusingOak247
1. I’m doing okay, a bit stressed out. 2. I can’t really think of things I achieved, I actually failed and missed out on a lot of stuff. 3. I go to school, talk with my friends. Ask 3 teachers if they can help me out with their subjects. I hope they say they do. After that I’ll come home, study for my next tests and hope I feel less stressed and be able to relax for a bit. Maybe even a day without crying.
Sometimes the stress can be overwhelming. What kinds of things are you doing to find time for yourself? @AnonymousPolarbear17
I'm doing okay, I'm pretty stressed out and anxious because of my tests and presenting I have to do today. I have gotten an A on my tests, I've been able to find new ways to cope, and I've been trying to raise how I see myself. My dream for tomorrow is to not cry, not feel numb, and not start thinking irrational when I'm alone.
Good luck on your tests
thank you :)
Hello everyone! 1. I’m doing pretty fine compared to other days 2. I went on a business trip, ended with a toxic relationship and got a new dog ❤️🐶 3. Mental health and a meaningful life I have been on this recovery journey for 5 years, im prove that its possible to recover, I used to be extremely depressed Don’t give up! ❤️
Glad to hear that you are doing well. @Annemarie163
1.) How are you doing?
I'm exhausted. I got a reply from my work incentive planner yesterday. He basically said that he'd thought he'd sent me an email about my ticket to work awhile ago, and then said that my ticket to work had been inactive in 2014 because I'd failed my first annual review, meaning I hadn't achieved the goal to graduate college...which is kind of absurd because I had to go through years of community college to even transfer to state to get the degree that was necessary to even start qualifying for technical writing jobs. I managed to ask the worker what I should do next, clicked send, then logged out of my email so I could be depressed over my failure and the time wasted. I texted my friend about it a little, but she was really busy assisting with some virtual teaching and already wasn't feeling good. So I backed off and just did nothing all day.
I just checked my email and found reply from the work incentive planner that was actually a back and forth email chain between him, my job developer, and another counselor as they worked together to figure out how soon I'd be issued a ticket to work. So, survey says maybe 3 months after I signed my latest Individual Plan for Employment. Which means it should be active already, but isn't, so whatever someone screwed up.
At least they're aware of it now.
2.) What three things have you achieved recently?
Emailed the work incentive planner, walked yesterday, finished reading The Count of Monte Cristo last week.
3.) What does your dream tomorrow look like?
Pulling out the trash cans to prepare for Friday's trash day and then not having to do much cleaning.
Despite all the disappointment, it sounds like you are headed in a good direction. It is nice when the screwups finally get resolved. @integrityblues
1.) How are you doing? All right.
2.) What three things have you achieved recently? Nothing
3.) What does your dream tomorrow look like? Rosy, my dream is to marry my girlfriend,
Glad to hear that things are pretty okay.@Offmytrack
