Do You Knit?
Today is 'Knitting Outside Day!' Did you know that lol?
I usually knit inside in the evenings in my rocking chair, with my glasses perched on the end of my nose.
But lots of people knit
And more recently Tom Daley the gold medalist diver!
Please share your favorite knitting patterns, or tips on how to pick up dropped stitches?

I loveee these fun national days, they really allow everyone to have a special day! Also, it's so amazing seeing a gold medalist diver knitting while sitting in the audience ahaha. I'm not a huge knitter myself, but I cannot wait to see what everyone else has to say. I'm sure I'll get into knitting at some point, so this thread will be quite helpful then :D
I do crocheting a lot working on my second blanket. I made one for my other half and the one I’m working on now is for my mom.
@CrimsonJae Do you knit at all? I wondered because a lot of people say that crocheting is faster and works up quicker than knitted blankets?
Are you making this in squares or all as one piece?
Listening - One Step At A Time!
I’ve tried it a little bit but for me personally I enjoy crocheting it’s a bit quicker and easier.
I make it all in one piece.
@CrimsonJae Wow that must get heavy? Do you have any pics? I'd love to see if possible :)

I’m having trouble getting the photos to send I’m sorry.
@CrimsonJae no worries, I am just amazed that you can crochet in one piece, but it's fun isn't it? Thanks for trying!
Listening - One Step At A Time!
It is a lot of fun. I like to do it since I’m a truck driver it’s very relaxing and helps with coping.

I do a lot of lace and cables, which is probably why I haven't been motivated, it's complicated!
I keep a small crochet hook around to pick up my dropped stitches with, and then use a stitch marker to hold it until i can put it back on the needle.
this is the other picture i meant to include that it coded wrong for some reason
Is there a special way to send pictures
@CrimsonJae first open up a Reply box, then click on the 'image' icon as below. Then you will see a dropdown box and the option to upload a pic! Try that and lets see if it works for you!

@CrimsonJae
No, I've tried. But I do crochet.
@EmbStitcher33 so does @CrimsonJae look at those pics of the blanket! What do you crochet?
Listening - One Step At A Time!
I’ve knitted for over 10 years. I quit about a year ago as I just lost interest in it (and everything). I saw a pattern for a cowl a few weeks ago that sparked my interest so I plan on starting again soon. I felt productive when I knit before.
Made a pot holder/hot plate mat for the truck.
@CrimsonJae That's really pretty and useful, and truck? That sounds like it needs some explaining?
Listening - One Step At A Time!
I’m a truck driver and drive over the road the truck is basically my home.
I tend to knit more in the winter, crochet in the summer, bellow is the project currently on my needles. It's one of my favourite patterns to use for blankets.
As for picking up dropped stitches? I knit fairly deep on my needles so I don't drop them, so have no tips or tricks there.
@EmotionsListener That is pretty awesome, I think some of knitting and crochet is counting and math?
Listening - One Step At A Time!
@MistyMagic
Definitely a lot of counting and well if you want to change or make your own patterns a bit of math as well yes. I find I'm more adventurous with crochet because it's easier to go back if you don't like the results. "Tinking" (undoing knitting) on the other hand is often a bit more involved.
Benefit is that both are considered "meditative" activities so if you struggle to meditate (like me) knitting or crochet can provide a similar benefit!
