People usually think that everyone in Colombia do drugs which is not true and like not more than people in other countries. Some people thing the whole country is a jungle, we have cities, there are warm cities, there are cold cities, not all the country is warm either.
I wish people understand that stereotypes can often not be true or there can by maaaany exceptions.

More than start assuming "is it true that in Colombia all....?" people could ask things in a better way "how is this like in Colombia?"

Whoops my post got lost. I loved Panama but didn't know that. I'd love to go back and learn more about the country.

For the US I think I wish people would realize how big it is as how there's a really big difference between some of the areas in the country to the point they could be seperated into a few countries.

Thankfully NZ doesn't have too many different

THat we are spanish (I'm portuguese).

Annoys me because Spanish and Portuguese people are very different. Is two gorgeous cultures. And although I find spanish culture beautiful annoys me that my culture is always associated with it just because most people don't even bother about gathering information :|

@Imaginativa2930

Thank you ! :)

Well is actually easy to understand. The best way I can explain is imagine british english with the american english. Is the exact same language but with different accents and some different words. European Portuguese and Brazilian portuguese is the same :)

Well, to be honest, the opinions and views are so varying that I can't think of one important misconception I wish to dismiss. Perhaps someone in this thread could point something they hear about north africans and I'd happily argue it :).

That we are still part of Czechoslovakia. It's really frustrating to talk to tourists that still think that. I mean, if you go on a holiday somewhere, you at least learn the name, right? 😬😬😬

That my indian parents will have to choose my soulmate for me .Last night my uber driver asked me 'If i would require my wife to wear hijab '. I had to strech a really long conversation to explain that it depends on individual and no I would be much better off looking for my own soulmate .A women has the right to wear what she wants and if hijab is what she prefers ,i don't have any problem with that .Same goes vice versa.

That we are savages or some historical culture that died out. We aren't savages and our culture is still very alive, active, and modern. (Native American)

That Arab girls don't have any freedom. And could you stop thinking that SA is representing all the Arabs/Muslims of the world ? They are living in their dark ages. Why none is taking Indonesia as a representative for Muslims, or UAE as a representative for Arabs ?

That's annoying... All the world is seeing us as criminals, retarded and all the stuff, while we're just normal people.

The common misconception about Filipinos is that we are all domestic helpers, nurses or call center agents. But we are far more than that.
