Languages!
What are some languages that you wish to learn?
Let's share language learning tools and resources!
I would like to learn Portuguese and German some day. Here are some of my resources:
I can speak English and Chinese
I speak English, Italian, and Spanish!
Well being British I can obviously speak it, but I'm part Russian too so I can speak a little of that, I also know a little Chinese, Koran, French and Italian? But I'd love to be a fluent in all five languages as listed.
I'm in the process of learning French and want to learn Dutch aswell, I'm thinking about Arabic but I dunno yet.
I speak Russian, Finnish and Lithuanian (and English of course) . I have studied Korean for some time and right now I'm studying Sweadish and Spanish.
Persian,english and learning arabic
I speak German, English, French, Spanish fluently, and some Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish. I'm currently learning Japanese as well and would like to learn more about Icelandic
I speak English, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu. Learning French and Turkish. I have Latin, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and German on my list.
I speak English, but I am self-learning Greek and Korean, and I am going to be minoring in Chinese in school
I also really want to learn: Arabic, Xhosa, Hindi, Farsi, German, and Japanese! (and the list will probably just keep growing!)
I am from Romania. I speak Romanian.
I am also fluent in English.
I learned Spanish quite well thanks to Duolingo, but my writing skills aren't still that good. I also learned French in school but, unfortunately, changing so many teachers had a bad effect on how well I learnt it in the end.
I want to perfectionate my Spanish and maybe my Italian. I began learning Italian on Duolingo but I lost my motivation quickly.
@cristiana33 Hey! do you feel that meet people from other culture on here could increase your motivation to learn languages?
@TortueDesBois
Hey! Interesting question. It could, it would definitely be a challenge as we could only practice our writing skills. :)
It's easier when the way you pronounce some words it's similar to the way you write them. That's certainly not the case with Germanic languages.
Old thread, but I couldn't resist posting: In my opinion, it's not the Germanic languages that are pronounced very differently from how you write them, but the Romance languages (with the exception being English, which in my opinion is due to heavy French influence in the language). I can only speak for the West Germanic languages though, since I don't know any Scandinavian languages.
@TortueDesBois Definitely! I have dear friends from other countries that's why I feel extremely motivated in learning their languages
@cristiana33 Romanian is actually a language I would also be interested in.
