I'm just a kid, let me be one

I'm just a teen, wishing I wasn't one

A child forced to grow up too fast

And a teen stretching a hand back to his little days,

The other reaching for the "freedom" adulthood seems to offer

Horribly awkward in between the two, I dream of a place where I can have both.

Here, I have to be mature and resposible, but I laugh and I sleep, dreaming of what should have been

And I dream of what will be-

A home of my own where I can be a silly little kid again and not worry about judgement,

but the recources to lead a successful and happy life

Trust me little one, when I grow up, I'll spoil you rotten.

What is your dream life?

I would be writing with no junk in my head disrupting my thoughts all of the time, as it is now.  I would be successful.  I would have friends and a love life.  I would be happy.

I just don't want it to matter,

No haves and have nots,

Every possibility,

To painlessly explore every mistake,

To reach every appropriate conclusion,

To transfer to different worlds,

Like walking into a country you know nothing about,

Real life adventure,

And the best fiction that we can all come up with.

I want recompense,

To dismantle and recycle all the monsters this world has created,

To take institutions and turn them into world wonders,

To not only give everyone happiness,

But to reach into every possibility,

And give them those things when they needed them back then.

There's something we all needed yesterday,

I want it to feel like an endless trip with friends,

And all the wonder that always came with that sort of thing.

It's about more than coming together in fulfillment,

I'm calling it now,

Paradise is as capable of growth and wonder as we are.

I dream of the day I can jog not run

A day free of the weights of others wrongs

No more thoughts scattering about

No more fear of them nor doubts

A day where I can venture in the deep

To find the person I used to be

To greet that child who I hid away

With love, kindness, and praise

A day I can briskly walk down the salty shore

Just because I can and nothing more

A simple life, and a simple day

That's my glorious dream that seems so far away
