CDM Progress Report
Hi CDM Trainees,
This thread serves as progress reports for CDM Program.
We would love to hear how you are doing!
Each week, we would like you to reply to this thread answering the following three questions:
- Which discussion was the last you completed?
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
If you require support, please let us know and we'll reach out to you.
@ouiCherie I had earlier submitted two weeks' worth of weekly reports in the Weekly Progress Report, hence, I will sum it up altogether here, in my current week's progress. (30th May 2022)
Which discussion was the last you completed?
I had completed the first four discussions. And I'm now working on the 6th discussion.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
As I'm working on the 6th discussion - ensuring best writing practices - I'm struggling to understand keyword research, on how to list related keywords for my articles. I'm trying to find online resources to guide me on keyword research. So far, it hasn't been fruitful to fully comprehend how I can go about it. I hope I could get some help in that area.
What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others
My first 4 discussions went well. Looking at the work done by previous participants was quite helpful and made sure I'm on the right track.
@sshn07
Hi S, I noticed you're doing the first 4 discussions very well ππ
So, discussion 6 is about exercise to write 100 words paragraph. The provided topic is: Coping with Loneliness During the COVID-19 Pandemic
I'll write a bit here for other trainees too and will reach out to you for follow up.
1. The topic itself is a big longtail keywords. Meaning the search is most likely high for that sentence. Well... not as high as last year perhaps π
There are also 3 big single keywords there: loneliness, covid-19 and pandemic.
2. Decide what angle you want to explore this topic further. Is it loneliness during pandemic in general or more specific. For instance: in teens, in working people, in single adult, in senior. or a how-to paragraph or perhaps the signs and symptoms, etc.
Then you will get additional keywords. For example: teens/ adolescents.
Keeping with the keywords on provided topic is also great. In article writing practice, it is better not to keywords stuffing the paragraph (unless necessary) as this can backfire. Google, as the most popular search engine at the moment, is not really fond of irrelevant keyword stuffing article.
Keyword research is basically you consider what will people type in search engine related to your topic. If you want to see what's trending in Google related to the topic check in: Google Trends
Oh.. and use the keywords a few times on your paragraph.
Is it helps? Feel free to discuss further if you have more questions. I'd be happy to assist you π
Thank you for the check-in S!
@ouiCherie
Hey, thanks a lot for this! I will use these tips in my upcoming article writing.
@ouiCherie
Which discussion was the last you completed?
As of today, I have completed up till discussion 9 (Getting Ready to Write: Topic Selection). Currently waiting for my topic approval.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I initially struggled with keyword research, however, with the help of @izzy274 and you, I believe to at least get the hang of it and work my way to apply those tips for my article writing.
Besides, as I have been reading discussion 12, I feel a tad bit overwhelmed writing my own biography as I do not have much experience being a 7 Cups listener.
What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others
The CDM program is equipped with best writing practices, tips, and techniques for your content. I believe those to be very helpful in creating different types of content marketing.
@sshn07
Hi S, thank you for the consistency to check-in π
For bio, no worries, you can write for example: A member of 7 Cups community since _____ have personal experience in overcoming _____ love learning and passionate about content marketing.
If you want your real name on your article, please note it at the bottom of your article: please use my real name (no need to mention the name) or you can note: please PM me for my bio in article to keep the confidentiality of your 7Cups member account.
I'll tag @Clarisse29 here about your topic approval.
And @secrecykhasya to note your weekly progress report.
Thank you Clarisse, Khasya @Izzy274 πππ»
@ouiCherie
Thank you so much :) Noted on your message!
@ouiCherie
Which discussion was the last you completed?
I have now completed my coursework part 2 and the quiz that follows. Currently, working on my first article draft.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I did not quite get my first article title right, hence, it was rejected. I have submitted a second title and pending approval. Hopefully, Iβve managed to get it right now.
What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others
The feedback of other participants to your discussions is extremely helpful. As is the case with my biography, through the comments of a fellow participant, I can see how to make a better one.
For my article title, it was helpful to know what is needed to produce an impactful one. I would encourage people who have the same struggles as me to look for sources to check the SEO score of your article title, in addition to the guidelines in discussion 11.
@sshn07
No worries. It is initial timeline. Your article deadline will be a week after @Train1 inform you that the topic is approved.
If you need more time, you can always submit an extension request form. Please find the form here
Thank you S and wishing you a speed full recovery π
@ouiCherieWhich discussion was the last you completed?
I have completed topic 13; Reviewing and promoting current articles.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I had so many ideas to put so writing just a small paragraph was difficult. But, will work on it π

I got better with the graphics; I think. It isnβt my strong point so the course has helped with working on that skill.
I think it would be nicer for others to try a more minimal approach to graphic posts since it has a more calming appeal. In writing, people can try to use shorter sentences as that is great for readability.

iii) Till now everything went pretty well and fine , thanks to you for helping me out in every little thing I approached you with. The best part that I loved is the graphic designing part and also the tips that made me learn about CDM
@ouiCherie
-Which discussion was the last you completed?
Community questions and answers- the basis of mental health awareness and support
-What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
something that I struggled with was understanding how the course works and where do we need to look for instructions. Though it seemed pretty easy when I found out.
-What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
the instructions are pretty clear. And the questions were good and thought provoking. loved participating in the discussion.
I have only done two assignments which were pretty easy so cant exactly think of tips. Focus on time management and not procrastinating, maybe xD.
@FerineMusings
Thanks for checked-in Ferine π I'm glad you managed to find information needed and the tip is lit! xD don't hesitate to nudge me on PM if you ever have questions during the program.
