Pending gloom and doom.... shoulder surgery.... down 6-8 weeks.... self employed.... wasn't able to stockpile $$$$.... going to be tight. a fearful september and end of year, holiday expenses.
Being upbeat is not on the agenda this evening.
@IsayUncle
IM really sorry to hear about the tough situation you're facing with your upcoming surgery andd the financial concerns that come with it. It makes sense that this would be a challenging time and its okay to not feel upbeat right now
If theres anything specific on your mind or anything you'd like to talk through, this space is here for you. we're all here to support each other and I hope the coming weeks bring some relief and better days for you🌼
@IsayUncle
I don't mean to make light of your problems, but when you wrote "gloom and doom", the first thing I thought of and started singing to myself was the old "Hee Haw" skit(dating myself here).....I'm not sure if you are familiar......anyway, I have all the confidence in the world that you will pull yourself up by the bootstraps and things will fall into place.....I'm tossing good vibes your way brother....
@CyclingThroughLife
NP, thanks man!

- How's everything going for you at work?
sorta smoothly, although had some challenges - What's something you're excited about or hoping for in the near future?
to be autumn soonn yayy - Are there any current challenges you're facing or areas where you could use some extra support?
it is yeah, im hoping to get the support i need
- How's everything going for you at work? I am in a state of what I call "status quo" at work....I'm just floating along hoping things don't go bad and I can make it to retirement.....I just think I've been doing this job too long (since 1997) and am ready to move on....there really is no "satisfaction" from an end product in what I do....
- What's something you're excited about or hoping for in the near future? My near future.....I don't really have anything that sticks out that excites me....I do have long term goals, for my retirement, that I have recently decided to pursue....I just need to start them....
- Are there any current challenges you're facing or areas where you could use some extra support? With the weather changing in the coming months, winter, snow, cold.....I suffer from seasonal affective disorder(don't we all in some ways or another?)....I know in about a month and a half, I will start to spiral downward into my winter "funk".....When that happens, I will be here, on 7cups, doing what needs to be done....
@CyclingThroughLife
i appreciate you sharing where you're at with work and your plans for the future. it must feel tough to be in that "status quo" space and longing for something more fulfilling, especially after being in the same role for so many years. its great that you have some long-term goals in midn for retirement, sometimes having those to focus on can be a source of motivation🌱
i hear you on the seasonal changes and how they can affect your mood. Seasonal affective disorder is really challenging and its no uncommon to feel that "funk" coming on as winter approaches. there are many people here who are more than happy to support you when those days get tough. you're not alone in this🌸
