Just lost my part time job

😭 I cannot help myself and I cannot even help my husband. Whenever I look for a new job, I'm always rejected. It's hard to find a job for a B1 English level. No one is hiring me for VA jobs. 😭

@sensiblePlum4168 Hi plum! I am so sorry for what you are going through, I know how scary and frustrating it can be not to find work or lose work. I am also trying to apply and look for work both in my field and in other fields that I have some experience in. I keep getting rejected, in one case they changed the job description and decided to hire someone with a different profile or more experience; in other cases, I apply and something will happen for a little bit where I work a little, but it is nothing long term. In other cases, the jobs seem to be like scams and recruiters are just looking for extra resumes or head counts. It is so scary for me too because now I am concerned I have too much experience in one field which is not going that well, and now I am a bit older, so I am starting to think about what I could possibly do.

Do not lose hope because I am sure you will be able to find something; you can try a little each day.

I hope this helps! Have a nice day!

I just got fired from work today. I applied to many companies. I keep getting rejected. I just don't know what to do anymore. I wish I was smart enough for me to pass the interviews.

@sensiblePlum4168 Sorry to hear that you were terminated from your last job. Can relate to that. By the way, have you tried contacting a job agency yet? The recruiters help job seekers with finding a job, preparing for interviews, and learn new skills sometimes, like certifications. I know you mentioned you specifically wanted VA jobs, but maybe can do the job agency temporarily while looking for VA jobs on the side? :O They might even be able to find you a VA job, unsure. Anyhow, sorry you are currently going through this. I wish you all the best!

I’m so sorry to hear about what you’re going through. Not being able to find work and earn money is scary, but you should never give up! I’m sure that you’re gonna be able to find work in your field!

I totally understand.. even I have trouble find jobs in the same field.. I was planning to teach on the side, but I haven't been able to find anything.. At least you're able to apply, I can't even find any to apply to.

Have you tried changing your cover letter or resume? Tailor it to each job posting before sending it off?

I tried to update my CV and my resume. Whenever I submit my application, they invited me for an interview. After interview, I keep getting rejected. 😭 It's hard for a B1 English level like me to apply for a VA jobs or WFH customer service jobs. I'm not even graduate. I just completed High school level. 😭😭😭 If I just have enough money, I want to study to improve myself and of course to have a graduation certificate. Unfortunately, we're not rich. I started working at the age of 19 to support my siblings and now they are all graduate. Now, I cannot even help myself.

Come to think of it, I'm also just a high school graduate. I only earned a couple of Certificates but has no Degree. One of those Certificates, landed me a job in a Hospital. Since you started working early to support your siblings, maybe you can ask your siblings for their support. They should be thankful and would want to repay your kindness and hardwork.

Or you can try and look for some online courses to upgrade your education. Some online courses are cheaper than sitting in a class.

I like the idea for online courses. I will do that ❤️ BTW, here in the Philippines, it's hard to get a job especially if you're not graduate. They have high standard But the pay is low. But it's okay. There are also a lot of jobs here that doesn't required a diploma like call center jobs. I'm applying for that and I hope I get hired. ❤️ Thank you

Happy to have given you some ideas. Maybe just get into any type of jobs for now.. just get some income in, then, you can slowly start looking for ways to complete a degree. Do you have any field in mind? Or College/University you want to complete it at? Maybe you could start by contacting them, and maybe even ask, if you took courses online, if they could be transferred and counted as credits towards the program. That way, the courses you take online can become your first steps to the field of interest. Or maybe there are some prerequisites that are required. You can find out if online courses will be transferable. They might even have suggestions to where you can complete the courses online.

Good luck 🍀
