Panic at Work

For the most part, I have enough knowledge and skill to successfully keep myself from having a full blown anxiety meltdown at work, but my bosses energy and chaotic personality really affects me negatively. I’m having a hard time combating her neurotic energy with my energy.

How often are you around your boss? Is it possible to take a few minutes away from her whenever she gets to be "too much?"

I work with my boss about 4 days a week. I do try to take a 10 min break and ground myself when I feel like I’m getting really overwhelmed by her but with being short staffed, sometimes those 10 mins are hard to come by.

It is hard to work with people that have different energy levels. I can understand that how much energy drain every single second just to talk or interact with them. Unpleasant relationship with boss and/or co-workers is the typical source of Work-related stress. If it is possible, seeking help from EAP programs, they are quite experienced and also confidential.

It is very draining, but it’s even more frustrating that I let her frantic energy get to me even when I’m trying my best to keep that from happening. I don’t believe I know what EAP programs are, would you mind clarifying?
