Graduation

VioletFairy001 June 5th, 2016

I skipped out on my high school graduation ceremony because I was afraid of having a panic attack. I don't know if I should feel proud of myself or feel self hatred.

Were you still able to get your diploma? If so, you did what was best for you and you graduated. In the end, it's just a graduation ceremony. If you would have had a panic attack during the ceremony, would have enjoyed the festivities anyways?

Be happy you were able to complete such a huge accomplishment of graduating from High School! In the end, the rest is trifles. heart

HS Graduation is awesome - but, focus on college next. The graduation from college will be something you will want to prepare for... and it's a lot less stressful because it's more focused on what you eventually want to do... hopefully.

It's normal to feel anxiety with such events.

@VioletFairy001It’s important to recognize that choosing to prioritize your mental health was a brave and responsible decision. Feeling conflicted is natural, but self-compassion is key. You made the best choice for yourself at that moment, and that’s something to be proud of, not ashamed of.
