Hi everyone! The 7 Cups Academy [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdates_100/HsHaven_1970/StriveTowardsLeadershipProfessionalExcellencethe7CupsAcademy_232978/1/] has around five programs available to everyone at any given time. With our academy growing quickly everyday, we require a strong team of mentors to run the programs and make it a smooth sailing ship for our trainees. At the academy, we are always looking for help so if you would like to contribute to our programs, please use this post as a guide to apply to become a mentor. Please review each program and what each program requirements are to become a mentor. You may apply for one at a time, once you've passed 2 months in your role, you can apply for another program. You can only be part of two programs.

- Those in a leadership role already will be given preference!

- The academy reserves the right to remove any mentor on any basis, well within reason. It can be based on inactivity, unprofessionalism, etc.
- Each role entails a month-long trial that follows the training. You will be trained initially and then put on a trial so both you and the team can create an understanding of each others' work style.
- Please be mindful of how much time you can dedicate to the programs. All of these programs require consistent weekly involvement. If you are occupied with other roles or anything else, you might not have the time for these roles.
General expectations from all the roles:
- Always be open to feedback, be it positive or constructive. We strive on the feedback we are given and will take every opportunity we can to become better.

7 Cups Academy Emails Information: Are you getting your academy emails?

Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well. From time to time interns/trainees report not getting acceptance or other such emails from us. I am writing this post to clarify how to go about this.
Firstly 95% of the time, the email sits in your spam. So please check spam before reaching out. You will find it there in most cases. If you want to prevent emails from going to spam then please check this article. [https://downtimemonkey.com/blog/how-to-whitelist-an-email-address-in-gmail.php]
You can reach out to the admin or ambassador overseeing the program you applied for to get the email you need to white list (if you choose to do that). Or you can also just PM me and I will provide you the email you need to whitelist depending on the program you have applied for/enrolled in. Only do this step if you have an issue with emails going to spam, otherwise, there is no need.
Now for the 5% who are not even finding the email in spam, please reach out to the admin/ambassador who sends acceptance emails for the program and provide a different email. We will forward the emails to your new email.
It is worth noting that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are receiving the emails. If you do not get trial end or program end reminders because you have not been checking emails/reaching out if not getting them, then that will not be considered a valid excuse.
Emails you can expect to receive:
Acceptance email - sent 1-2 days before the start date
Resource Emails - provides you with important links
Important Dates email (only for internship)
Two-week trial ending reminder - sent 3-4 days before your trial is set to end
Last step/final eval reminder email - sent 1-2 weeks before your end date.
Person in charge of acceptance emails for each program:

Academy Programs, courses and trainings! A masterpost

Hi everyone! This post provides the latest information on academy programs. Every once in a while we will renew our posts to ensure the information is up to date and you can be sure that you are getting the most updated information.
The 7 Cups Academy is a tuition-free institution that trains members, listeners, and researchers to develop skills and better care for our community. These are professional skills that are of great use even outside 7 Cups. We believe in practice-driven learning and all of our courses have in-field experience at the core. This post is dedicated to providing listeners and members with the information they need on opportunities available to them within 7 Cups Academy. The 7 Cups Academy has had 1800+ graduates.
How is 7 Cups Academy different from training guides or other educational material available at 7 Cups?
The academy programs target specific skills like leadership, content development, etc. Trainees not only get theoretical knowledge of the subject but also spend time practicing the skills under our practicum opportunities.
That is not all, one of the challenging parts of learning something new is that it can be an isolating experience and at times you may feel like the motivation is fading. At 7 Cups Academy, we understand your support needs. We have mentors who check in with you regularly to help you navigate the set of requirements and to offer support and encouragement.
Additionally, we believe in a student-led approach. Feedback from our trainees results in constant improvements to the program’s coursework and structure. An example of this is our launch of group check-ins where academy trainees can connect with fellow trainees and share experiences.
Why choose 7 Cups Academy?
*
All of our programs are completely free
*
1-1 mentor support to help you graduate
*
You choose your program duration and can seek extensions
*
Our programs focus on hands-on practical training
*

*

*

*
It is a great way to work towards a 7 Cups role. Academy graduates gain relevant experience that makes them good candidates for 7 Cups roles within that focus.
*
All graduates (from any of the academy programs) can request a letter of recommendation
*
We provide 7 Cups work verifications, references for school/university/work applications

Training Courses
It is okay if you do not have hours to commit to learning or if you are interested in a very specific skill, we have you covered! We also have training courses that are based on specific skills and it takes 1-2 hours on average to complete one. All you need is a 7 Cups listener account and you can get started on them! Once you complete one, you get the badge assigned automatically. You will also get an automatic green tick when you complete a course.
Think of academy programs as Internships, courses as a deep dive into a domain where you need to learn multiple topics and/or skills and training courses as specific training materials to address a topic that you are keen on learning.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is well. I think we have to acknowledge that it is challenging to meet our own set goals. Repeatedly in life, we wish to achieve things yet we are at times unable to do the same despite our desires. We want to help you meet your academy goals.
To help you reflect on the commitment you are making we have come up with an academy oath. From now and onwards, this oath is a requirement to join any academy program. We encourage current trainees/interns to take it but is not required for them. Though if you apply for an academy program from now and onwards, you must have taken this oath.
How does one take the oath?
Copy the italic part of the oath ad and fill in the program and your first name or username. Make sure to sign it using your username/first name or initials. It is important that you read the oath out loud before submitting it as a response to this post.
7 Cups Academy Oath
I ___, make a commitment to myself and 7 Cups Academy that I will do my best to complete the (insert program) By applying for the program, I show understanding that I have the time to dedicate to the program and I intend to complete the program. I will respect the time of all those who support me during this academy journey by staying committed to the goal of graduating from the program.
Signed,
Insert Name
Note: This is not required for the community building and time management courses as those are academy courses, not programs.

Adding Volunteer Experience to your resume!

Did you know you can add your 7Cups experience to your resume?
Awesome, right?!
You may be asking yourself....
Where can I put my volunteer positions on my resume? (related experience)
Work or professional history, section (whichever you may have on yours)
Where can I put my non-related experience?
You can create a volunteer position section at the bottom of your resume!
This is a great option if you feel it will set you apart of other candidates
What should my format be?
Format your volunteer work using the same structure you used for previously held jobs, but make sure you identify your role as “volunteer” along with any additional titles held like management or leadership positions.
Example:
7Cups - Mental Health Organization
Volunteer (Your position),(state date - end date)
The Benefits
- Great for those with limited professional experience -
especially those who recently graduated high school or college!
- Volunteer work may also benefit anyone applying to work in industries where such work is highly valued.
- It keeps gives companies an understanding as to why there is a gap
in your resume (such as leaving the workforce for a period of time)

Hi everyone! I hope you are well. In life whenever you try to learn something new, you are faced with challenges. The same goes for academy programs. No matter how motivated you maybe, there may come a point where you start to doubt yourself or feel like motivation is fading.
I am calling all academy graduates to reflect on their experience as an academy trainee/intern and give some tips to existing trainees who are finding it hard to complete the program. These can be tips on how to find motivation, and what worked for you and it will be great if you can share your own experience and what helped you.
Some comments will be picked and added to flyers distributed to trainees/interns to help motivate them. It will have your username and your tip!
Please follow this format!
Your Tip:

Hi everyone! I hope you are well. As you know we recently launched a few of our academy courses and that means room for leadership seats! I wanted to make this post in an attempt to be transparent about the opportunities that are available within our academy.
We have openings for the 7 Cups academy mentor role for all academy programs.

Apply to be an academy mentor here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/ListenerLearningJourney_149/ListenerResources_61/Applytobecomea7CupsAcademyMentor_243570/1/#2635020]
Why should you become an academy mentor?
Regardless of the program, you choose to focus on, being an academy mentor allows you to support a program that provides free learning opportunities for all those who wish to pursue the skills associated with the program. You make a difference in the journey of our interns/trainees. A lot of the trainees/interns credit their mentors for having a good academy experience. You also get to present ideas/feedback that can help us improve the academy.
Priority given to
One thing that I want to note/emphasize is that first priority will be given to academy graduates (people who graduated from the program they want to be a mentor for) AND we especially want to onboard listeners who are not already in leadership roles but meet the requirements. This is to encourage more listeners to pursue leadership opportunities within the academy if they are interested and have the time.
That being said, you are still welcome to apply even if you have not an academy graduate and if you have a few leadership roles. Listeners who are already heavily involved in leadership roles will not be accepted. This for your own well-being.
We also prefer Adult-Teen Listeners as they can work with teens and adults or adults who are willing to become adult-teen listeners.
Required Traits
The academy mentor role requires high consistency and reliability. Our mentors help shape the experiences of our academy interns/trainees and their work is of utmost importance. Therefore we are seeking candidates who are committed to the cause and can provide consistency.
We will work with you to train you for the role, so it is okay if you do not have experience of the academy programs right now but you have the passion to serve in the role.
Opportunities for further service
As most of the academy programs are new, this calls for leadership level openings even on higher levels of dedication like mentor leader roles. All academy programs are currently seeking mentor leader(s).
There is no direct option of applying for the role as it requires experience as an academy mentor. All academy mentors will have the opportunity to pursue the role. They will be given tasks/duties to show their consistency and commitment and the best fits will be chosen for the role.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor leader for a specific program, at first you need to be an academy mentor so apply if you aren't yet one and once you are one, express your interest by reaching out to me and we will work on a plan together.
Please note that mentor leader is a role that requires prolonged dedication and does not happen in a short period of time. So patience and commitment are required.
Selected mentor leaders will have the opportunity to become academy ambassador based on their work, experience, and commitment to the program.
Please apply to be an academy mentor if you are interested! You are also welcome to share this post with your friends who may be a good fit! Let's work together to strengthen our academy.
