˙˖°🦃˚Hello Academy Team˖°.🍂.ೃ*:

In the spirit of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and Cupsgiving in our community, I thought it would be fun for us to come together and create a gratitude train. Our train will inspire fellowship and connection with fellow peers as well as kindness.

°•▪︎.🍁•.☕️.•🍁.▪︎•°

˗ˏˋGratitude Time´ˎ˗

Three Easy Steps to Participate

🐿️⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🥧༄⋆⭒˚。⋆🍂

1. Post something you are truly grateful for this year, 2024. It could be anything- a teacher who motivated you to not withdraw from a course, a meaningful experience such as a new travel destination, or even simple things which bring you joy such as watching the leaves fall in Autumn.

2. After sharing your gratitude be sure to tag three of your peers to encourage them to fellowship with us for Cupsgiving. This person will then create their own post and continue the train by tagging three people. You will be able to see all your peers at the bottom of this post, so feel free to copy and paste three names.

3. At the end we will have a thread full of gratitude, a gratitude train, connecting us as Academy Team Leaders

image_1732132600.jpeg

When we share what we are grateful for, we inspire our peers to reflect on their own gratitude and this creates a dynamic positive ripple effect. It's a fun way to fellowship as a Team.

I will start the train

For 2024 I am grateful for:

image-6_1732134481.jpeg

1. I am grateful for each moment that I am alive!

image-3_1732134505.jpeg

2. Today, I was outside helping my mum in the garden, preparing for the winter and it made me realize how grateful I am to spend these moments with her.

image-9_1732134632.jpeg

3. I am grateful to be an Academy Leader and to have such inspiring peers. This past year I graduated from both the Quality Listening Program, and the Leadership Development Program, my experience was nothing short of amazing. I joined as an Internship Mentor in January after being encouraged by @Anusha, being mentored by @yourbuddy30, and continuously being encouraged by @Hope. I must say, I am surrounded by some amazing people. I am grateful for all Academy Team Leaders, volunteering their time with the Academy Team. It takes a lot of dedication and patience to fill the shoes you are in. Thank you!

Encouraging those tagged to join the gratitude train and share something that you are grateful for in 2025!

Thank you, Souris!

I feel grateful that I started again drawing and painting after years of not holding a brush or a pencil.

It lifted my spirits and allowed me to express my appreciation for life in new ways.

@HealingTalk

That's is great! I have read that Winston Churchill would paint and found it a way to deal with stress and depression

For me calligraphy helps me to find peace when I am anxious. Fine arts can indeed be calming and so I can see how it has helped Winston Churchill. Do you paint or draw yourself?

@PetiteSouris

Thank you.  I did a calligraphy course once to try and improve my handwriting and it is kind of relaxing.

In high school I was told that I was 'one of the best in the year group' in drawing and painting and my school tried to encourage me to go and study art further and take up art.  People would say than when I drew something it would look almost exactly like it.  I put in all the details.  However, I did not want to study art and wanted to study psychology, which was more useful I thought.  So I gave up drawing and painting.

Most of my family are involved in art - my sister is an artist and both my parents used to paint and draw during holiday breaks.  Most of my relatives are kind of artistic and there are many drawings in their homes they did themselves.  I gave it up...but I often think nowadays that such hobbies are good to do if you have time.

I read about a woman who on her deathbed was asked about something she regretted in life...she said she had given her life to her family and raised her children but regretted not giving more time to her watercolours.  So I guess such things can be important and integral to the lives of some people

It is blessing then to be able to have time for painting drawing and other arts that might help us deal better or experience life better and for the ability to do so.

I guess I haven't had the time to try it again at the moment...But I do think that drawing and painting can sometimes help us to appreciate the beauty of God's creation better and to express ourselves in less direct ways I guess and there are therapies: "music therapies" and "art therapies," so I think such things might be a lot more useful to us than we might assume...

@PetiteSouris

I agree with you about being grateful for life itself.

There is a story that is slightly long but I thought relevant to mention here

Trigger warning cancer and death:

I realised the value of life when I was studying years ago and someone I was studying with had lung cancer in the last stages.  However, she was very positive and said she felt that the cancer was a gift from God.  She said that all good things had happened to her since she had the cancer and she had opportunities she did not have before ..as she was Bangladeshi she said her family would not have allowed her to study or travel as a female but they were allowing her to do everything because of the cancer hoping she would get better.  She also felt the cancer was a sign of Gods love for her, especially when it was pressing against her lung and causing some pain.  She said that if she lived she hoped to be a great teacher but if she died she hoped she would die doing good things and in Gods love.  When I left, I received a message of condolences that she had passed away, which I never expected - she was only nineteen and was younger than myself.  I did not expect that and felt sad for her on the one hand that she did not achieve her dream but also ashamed of myself for not appreciating life and opportunities I had - I suddenly saw that life is full of opportunities and is truly a blessing.  The air that we breath daily, the people we meet, and our health are all blessings.

I learned from her that even the bad things or sufferings we can go through can be blessings and we might not notice them.

It is also not permanent so I realised that we should not allow our set backs to keep us back...

In the end I realised that despite not living to become the teacher she had hoped to be she has probably been my greatest teacher in life - by only a few words and demonstrating how you can be so grateful for life and for the things we things we suffer with.

I realised that God Almighty does answer us in ways we do not often expect.  He also gives good through things we see as negative at times.

  I actually decided to help her in her goal to teach people by continuing to pass on this example - her example - and mention her story so that she can still continue to teach people this example and be a great teacher and get rewards from God from beyond the grave.

Seeing several friends pass away who were young (another one had a heart attack after saying she would speak to me in two days) and a teacher to cancer I have come to realise that despite anything else life is the greatest blessing and within that the people we meet, our families and loved ones are all blessings in life that we don't always notice until they are gone.

I appreciate you sharing such a beautiful, deeply moving and personal story with us. It is truly amazing how someone's spirit even in the face of suffering, can teach us the most important life lessons, about love gratitude,, and the preciousness of life. Your firend's ability to see her challenges as gifts and to appreciate each moment despite her pain, is truly inspiring. This story reminds us to be thankful for the everyday blessing we often overlook- our health, our love ones and the opportunities given to us. Her legacy will live on not just through the lessons she shared, but in the way she continues to inspire others like you and me. Thank you for sharing with us @quietlistener2023, it is a powerful reminder to live with love and gratitude, and to see the good things when in the hardest times!

This year, I am truly grateful for the unwavering support of my friends and family and peers at 7Cups. They have been my rock through challenging times, always lifting me up when I needed it most. Whether it was a kind word when I felt down or their encouragement during tough decisions, their presence has made all the difference in my life. I am also incredibly grateful for the personal growth I’ve experienced this year. I’ve gained clarity on what I want to be and where I need to be, and it has given me a newfound confidence. Along with that, I’ve found joy in simple moments, like watching the leaves fall in autumn and appreciating the my loved ones.🍂💖
