Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. It is common to have questions regarding your academy program journey. It can be challenging to wait for a response so to provide speedy support, we have decided to have this one central thread where all academy trainees/interns can ask questions related to their academy journey.
Here is how to get support!
Respond to this thread with your question(s) and the program you are enrolled in. Remember, more information is better than less information. Provide context where needed so you can get speedy answers.
Who can respond to the questions?
Academy mentors, graduates, and even trainees if they are sure of the answer! Feel free to support each other and provide tips!
Make sure to keep an eye on your notifications so you can check the thread for answers. You can expect an answer within 24-30 hours.
This post is brought to you by the 7 Cups Academy Team, find out more information about the programs here [https://www.7cups.com/academy/]

Hi everyone! The 7 Cups Academy [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdates_100/HsHaven_1970/StriveTowardsLeadershipProfessionalExcellencethe7CupsAcademy_232978/1/] has around five programs available to everyone at any given time. With our academy growing quickly everyday, we require a strong team of mentors to run the programs and make it a smooth sailing ship for our trainees. At the academy, we are always looking for help so if you would like to contribute to our programs, please use this post as a guide to apply to become a mentor. Please review each program and what each program requirements are to become a mentor. You may apply for one at a time, once you've passed 2 months in your role, you can apply for another program. Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. Through our academy surveys and general community interactions, we have identified that most people feel like they can benefit from some form of time management training. The challenge with most time management techniques is that they do not train you to reflect on what really is important and schedule it in a sustainable way. We have found a book that deals with time management as part of your whole interrelated life and is in sync with your principles. I am talking about First Things First, a book by Stephen Covey [https://www.amazon.com/First-Things-Stephen-R-Covey/dp/0684802031]and comes highly recommended by @GlenM
We have created a course based on the book. We have summarized the book and converted it into a growth path and quiz. Here is how you can take part!
Step 1: Complete the first things first growth path [https://www.7cups.com/path/playlist/first-things-first-by-stephen-covey-under-construction/]
Step 2: Implement the teachings of the growth path for a minimum of one week. You will need the practical application to pass the practical part of the quiz.
Step 3: Revise the path content before completing the quiz. [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BYJMAqzaAQ2lgInKpUAv6jODuqZdbAVRKDVyYdLus1U/edit]You can skip this part if you feel confident to pass without the revision.
Step 4: Submit the time management course quiz. [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxm8jdvqi3wXzAfoHNia2G85NbSynVE0uSBga0oesXebX9_Q/viewform]
S [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxm8jdvqi3wXzAfoHNia2G85NbSynVE0uSBga0oesXebX9_Q/viewform]tep 5: Let us know that you have completed the steps here! [https://www.7cups.com/forum/BuildingCommunityProgram_208/AcademyPrograms_2311/CelebrateCourseCompletionHere_280719/]
The quiz will be processed within a week. All who successfully complete it by scoring at least 17/20 in theory and submitting practical components will receive a certificate and a badge.
Note: If you intend to use Artificial Intelligence tools to help you fulfill any of the course’s requirements, you are expected to adhere to our AI policy. You can read it here. [https://www.7cups.com/forum/academy/AnnouncementsandUpdates_2197/7CupsAcademysAIPolicy_326219/]

Additionally, we believe in a student-led approach. Feedback from our trainees results in constant improvements to the program’s coursework and structure. An example of this is our launch of group check-ins where academy trainees can connect with fellow trainees and share experiences.

The 7 Cups Academy is a tuition-free institution that trains members, listeners, and researchers to develop skills and better care for our community. These are professional skills that are of great use even outside 7 Cups. We believe in practice-driven learning and all of our courses have in-field experience at the core.
This post is dedicated to providing listeners with the information they need on opportunities available to them within 7 Cups Academy.
The 7 Cups Academy has had 1343 graduates and currently has 158 enrolled trainees
How is 7 Cups Academy different from training guides or other educational material available at 7 Cups?
The academy programs target specific skills like leadership, content development, etc. Trainees not only get theoretical knowledge of the subject but also spend time practicing the skills under our practicum opportunities.
That is not all, one of the challenging parts of learning something new is that it can be an isolating experience and at times you may feel like the motivation is fading. At 7 Cups Academy, we understand your support needs. We have mentors who check in with you regularly to help you navigate the set of requirements and to offer support and encouragement.
Additionally, we believe in a student-led approach. Feedback from our trainees results in constant improvements to the program’s coursework and structure. An example of this is our launch of group check-ins [https://www.7cups.com/forum/7CupsAcademy_208/AcademySessions_2207/AcademyWeeklyCheckinsNowAvailable_284393/] where academy trainees can connect with fellow trainees and share experiences.

Group Support Program is getting converted into a course!

Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. I am here with an announcement. We are converting our Group Support Program to a course. The course will be called ‘Group Dynamics Course’
We realized that the structure of the program may not be best suited for this specific topic. This is partly indicated by the reduced interest as seen in sign-ups. Academy programs require the content to be done during a specific period along with submitting different milestone posts and they are relatively more demanding compared to courses. The program structure has more benefits where the content requires consistent check-ins and more support. GSP has valuable coursework but the program structure is at some level hindering more people from benefiting from the content. We want to remove any obstacles that we can and help more people benefit from the coursework and practicum components.
The converted course will not be time-sensitive, it is entirely at your own pace, you can do it in a week or take a month or even more, it is up to you. The practicum requirements will be greatly reduced which will accommodate people who are not very familiar with groups yet but want to step outside of their comfort or experiment more with groups. It will resemble existing academy courses. You will receive a certificate and a badge for completion of the new course.
We understand that some users may have been planning to complete the Group Support Program [https://www.7cups.com/forum/gldd/InformationHub_2204/7CupsAcademyTheGroupSupportProgram_287834/] and we want to give everyone a last opportunity to complete the program if they wish to. Anyone eligible to join the program can still be a part of it. You can apply for the start date of Jan 15 (Friday is the deadline for this date) or Jan 22. Any date after that will not be accepted. Applications close on Jan 17. For the existing GSP trainees, you will continue the program as usual.
You can expect the Group Dynamics Course to be available by February.
Thank you to everyone who helped provide leadership support to the group support program and all those who completed the program.

New Elective Added to Academy Programs!

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. As you know we recently launched a new academy course, Inner Development Goals Course [https://www.7cups.com/forum/idg/General_2633/InnerDevelopmentGoalsCourse_318284/]. The Inner Development Goals provide an essential framework of transformative skills for sustainable development. They promote human inner growth and development.
As the course’s content is so important and can benefit an individual and community in general, we have decided to include this course as an elective option in academy programs. You will now be able to select the Inner Development Goals Course as an elective in Internship (both tracks), CDM, LDP, and QLP. It will not be a part of GSP.
In the Internship Student Track, we are also removing an elective as it has not been a popular choice and can confuse newer interns when making elective selections. The following elective will no longer be available:
* 100+ Listener Reviews
If you have already selected the above elective and informed us using the appropriate form (Monthly eval form) then you are welcome to keep it. However, it is not available for anyone who joins today and onwards.
Anyone who completes the IDG course as part of academy programs will also be eligible for the IDG badge and certificate. If you are currently a trainee and have already finalized your electives through the appropriate form given in your program, you may change it to include IDG by informing the program lead. You can see who leads what here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/academy/General_2438/AcademyLeadsWholeadswhat_314037/].

Academy Sessions Elective Removal
by Hope

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. I am here to make an announcement. As you may know, 7 Cups Academy has two types of sessions running, academy check-in and the other is orientation sessions. These started back on Jan 28, 2022.
The aim of these sessions was to add to the academy trainee support system. Eventually, we introduced an elective where you could either attend or host 4 academy check-ins and or orientation sessions. The challenge with these sessions remained two-part, one: it's not possible to pick a time that works for all interns/trainees so too often the sessions have few participants and at times none. Secondly finding host coverage is challenging as the session times can’t be moved with ease.
After evaluating the effort vs. benefit of these sessions and the elective, we have come to the conclusion that it's time to stop these sessions and as a consequence, the elective focusing on attending/hosting these sessions currently available in internship, CDM LDP, and QLP will cease to exist.
We understand that some trainees/interns may have been working towards the elective so to accommodate anyone left, these sessions will continue to run until October 16, 2023. So if you have chosen this elective, please attend the sessions before that date and complete it. You can find info on which ones are currently running here. [https://www.7cups.com/forum/academy/AcademySessions_2207/AcademySessionsAvailabilityPost_286076/]
The individual academy program leads will make the decision on whether they wish to replace this elective with some other option. At the moment no new elective has been finalized.
A big thank you to our hosts who have consistently hosted these sessions @SirenofSirenity and @Yourbuddy30
Note: If you joined any of the academy programs before Sep 26, 2023, and have the driven badge. It can be used as an elective option. However, anyone who joins after can not use the driven badge as elective.
