Offsite Tools: Permission Clarification for Leaders

It is important to bear in mind that offsite contact is prohibited. (Please refer to this page in our Help Center and this post for further information and why we enforce it for your safety.)

There is only one exception to this rule. In order for leaders to better collaborate to oversee their teams and manage operations, we occasionally use external communication tools. Google Hangouts/Spaces is one we commonly utilize.

This access is granted by special permission only and is closely monitored by the Community Team. All group chats created for leadership teams have the presence of an Admin to ensure smooth facilitation. Age groups are separate just like they are on site. If you are added to such offsite groups, you must communicate in the group space and avoid personally contacting other group users to ensure safety.

It should be noted that not all teams have the need for group chats and this is dictated by the Admin or Ambassador of their respective domains. Therefore, only Admins and Ambassadors may approve group chats and the addition of leaders.

If someone does use an offsite tool they will have received the OK from an approved permission granter. Here’s the list of those with trusted access:
