I can relate very well Roxanne because I felt the same and still do feel it was one of my best decisions ever made. Glad that you joined. 

@amiablePeace77 I don't recall if I already posted an introduction or not. I am 60-something and rather lonely. Recently I connected with a distant cousin and we had some nice email chats. We're not actually related because my grandfather was adopted, but it's nice to learn something about his adoptive father's family. Genealogy is interesting to me.

I hope that coming here and participating in the events or joining group support rooms helps you to feel less lonely.  Have you thought about joining activity groups on common interests in your community or close by? Many are for older adults seeking community and friendship.

@amiablePeace77 There is a centre for seniors, but it's far away. I'm supposed to meet my 80-something gentleman friend there if the weather permits him to drive. Snow possible. 

@Amelia763 I have listened to some group chats, but have never been invited to participate. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to indicate that I want to have a chance to speak. I have no way of knowing if I'm seen or not. Often the conversation seems unrelated to the theme and I don't stay long.

@Amelia763. There is a 50+ chat room which is a pop up. Which means it only opens for chats and discussions. There will be a discussion today Wednesday at 4pm est. You are always welcome to come.
