Cheri’s Connection Corner - Slow Down & Reflect on JOY from our Past 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Happy weekend to all in the 50+ Community!! 🙌🙌🙌💕💕💕💕

I hope this weekend finds you well. Sometimes in life it gets hectic and a weekend flies by too quickly! Let’s slow down and reflect on moments of JOY!

Through the years sometimes we don’t appreciate how beautiful our memories are until we look back and reflect on the moments that brought you JOY. ✨✨✨✨

It could be a tradition in our family as a child or music we loved and danced to or items that we used growing up or  a show we watched that brings back memories. We remember the good experiences, our personal history and the people that shaped our lives.

✨What games did you play as a child?  I used to play board games so when computere came along I loved playing those as well. I preferred simulation games so I  found those worked well with computers.

What is the highlight of your earlier years?

✨What are your favorite memories of childhood that make you smile?

My favorite memories of childhood was going on vacations with my family. I am trying to take my kids to all of the places I remember. However, now we have to plan trips a year in advance and make reservations for hotels and national parks. When I was younger, my dad would drive until he was tired and find a hotel to stay at. Next to every Motel 6 was a McDonald's and a Denny's.

I still have tickets from Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. Before, you had to buy ticket books for the different lands. Each book had a ticket for each ride in that land. There also was an all access ticket they used to pin to your shirt, but I don't have that one.

✨What are your favorite music or shows from long ago?

I miss Saturday morning cartoons- The Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner Show was my favorite. I also enjoyed Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. The Radio station I miss would have been the Mighty 690 am.

✨What fashion of hair trends that you remember?

Big hair teased out with a can of hairspray. I saw someone's hair catch on fire once.

✨What games did you play as a child?

Chinese jump rope, hopscotch, tetherball, keep away from the sharks (on the jungle gym), Pac-Man, etc.
