...See more Check-In November 7- 10, 2024 Even though aging is unavoidable, there are some indicators that one is aging well. Having sustained energy levels throughout the day is one of the signs of healthy aging.  Aging well includes maintaining a good range of motion and flexibility. Regular stretching exercises and activities like yoga or Pilates can help improve flexibility, ensuring that joints remain mobile and reducing the risk of injuries. Adequate rest and proper nutrition are very important and of course healthy sleep. Are you aging well and what are you doing current to ensure your body gets what it needs at your age?

...See more Check In for October 31 to November 3, 2024 October 31 is Halloween. Halloween's origins can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, which was held on November 1 in contemporary calendars. It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits. What is your favorite Halloween costume or movie?

...See more Check In for October 17 to 20, 2024 This month on October 10th was world mental health awareness. Do we ever think of how our mental health is as we grow older? As we grow older our body and mind changes sometimes better and sometimes not good. Taking care of our mental health is important. We begin to recognize that we need to focus on our health more. Studies show that once people turn 50 people are susceptible to Mental Health problems.  The risk and challenges change as we grow every year in our lives.  People in their 50's are the third highest age group with Mental Health problems. Ageism is the stereotypes, prejudice and discriminated of our group of ages.  The most common Mental Health issues people will face are : Depression, Dementia and anxiety. Dementia and Depression are the 5% to 7% for people over 60 years old. As we get older our mental and physical health become a 2 way street. The mental health as we grow older tend to go under radar because it is either not recognized or it goes unnoticed. The Mental Health issues older people face are:                                                    Depression                                                    Substance Abuse                                                     Dementia                                                    Anxiety                                                    Mental distress                                                    Suicide What are some ways we can see signs of problems as we grow older or in our parents? What can you do to make sure your physically and mentally healthy?
