Hello :) my name is happyrainbow, but you can call me rainbow! I am glad you are here and that you have reached for help.

What is my background?

I am a trained active listener, I have a psychology degree and I am finishing my master in counselling. I am still a young mental health practitioner, but I promise I will do my best to support you. I think online counselling is fascinating and with so many benefits. It is practical, helpful and therapeutic. That's why I have decided to do my internship in 7 cups of tea.

My interest?

While I am learning, I will do whatever it is in my capacity to help you. Since a young age, I have always been interested in supporting people who are struggling in life or in a vulnerable situation. I believe you don’t have to have a mental illness to look for help. ALL of US sometimes need to be listened and understood. As you, I am a person with positive and negative feelings and thoughts. Sometimes I struggle with life and sometimes I am in the climax of happiness. I think I have overcome a lot in life and that's why I am here. I love to understand another's person's pain and to try to do something about it. I would love to help you by listening what you are passing through and by giving you some info that can bring new ideas or coping skills.

How does that sound to you?

If you want to contact me just leave a message and we can set up a time to connect. If I am offline, I will respond as soon as I can. Happy you are here! I do hope I can help you and put colours to your life like a rainbow with my knowledge and personality!

Out of topic, but a little bit about me, so you don't feel you are talking to a stranger :)

I enjoy listening to music, playing the guitar, reading, eating desserts, watching TV comedy shows and chilling out in cafés. The list of things I do to help improve my mood are: to write in my diary what I am feeling and thinking, to walk and listen to music at the same time, to talk with my boyfriend, to watch that 70s show, to make a list of things I have to do (makes me feel less anxious since I create a plan to solve the problems), and to sing. so... WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS THAT IMPROVE YOUR MOOD ???

START A GRATITUDE JOURNAL

...See more Hello guys! So I was doing the depression guideline that 7 cups offer for listeners and members (If you are interested this is the link:https://www.7cups.com/depression-help-online/ ) and it mentioned the benefits of starting a gratitude journal. When we are depressed we tend to think in a negative way. Therefore, having a gratitude journal forces our mind to focus on the positive things. I guess it will be harder at the beginning since we have to make a huge switch to our focus but it is a start. We can start with basic things such as a house, food, 7 cups, a dog, eyes, etc... Look at this video :) I think I will start tonight https://youtu.be/27Ke0pTedVg
If your current mood was food, which food would you be?

...See more So I think this is an interesting game. It may sound funny but I think it can help us to understand and reflect our current mood :) If my current mood was food, I would be right now small squares of dark chocolate, since I am feeling glad for having helped someone today to feel better, so as you know dark chocolate can cause the brain to release endorphins and boost serotonin levels, which means better mood :) By the way, this game also reminds us how food can influence the way we feel. So think about your eating habits and specific food that might help you feel happier and more energized.

...See more Hi guys!!! I have seen a lot of people who decided to look for help and are worried about what to expect in their first appointment with a therapist. I found this video and I think is great. I really like Kati, she is always posting helpful videos about mental health if you want to follow her as well. I hope this is helpful for those who are worried about their first appointment or that if you have not sought professional help, it encourages you to make your first appointment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FiVVAOXiEQ&list=PL_loxoCVsWqzKCfa6ZOzzUEsio1MpVetn

Rainbow is a really great supportive person. I feel like she really understood me and gave me a lot of ways how I could improve myself and fix my problems, she gave me some idea how I could view it in different and better ways. I am really thankful to Rainbow for listening to me!
