Where do i start? It all came to a head when i had to deal with a passing of a family member and then the birth of my son. My anxiety was very severe and i wanted to end my life. I self-harmed and tried my best to get the courage to end my life. Life plodded on with this awful mindset, relationships were broken, isolated and then i attempted my life. I failed and now i am here because i had to rebuild my life from the very bottom to be who i am today.
The bottom was looking back to my childhood, understanding what i was never taught and what skills i needed. Understanding this was crucial but didn't change the way i thought. I turned to CBT and while that was going i researched NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) this helped me understand my own internal communications and how i spoke about myself.
Next was meditation and mindfulness to allow me to watch my triggers and put things in place to lessen their damaging aspects of negative thinking and understand why i was thinking them. I became a friend to myself as my brain and mind are the things that i will mostly talk to on this planet over all members of family and friends.
Next was my physical body, i had to understand how the food i ate played a role in the way my brain worked. Then exercise and building up a mentality that life didn't give one person a set of rules to succeed and another set of rules for me. If someone else can achieve something then we all can.
Lastly, after going through all of this and gaining valuable insight i realized my purpose on this rock in the sky was not to make money, it was to make a difference. I've worked with Mind and Samaritans and gained so many great skills to be able to help others whilst maintaining my own mental health.
