Bio
hi! i'm annika. i'm 18 and live in the US. i'm a college graduate with a degree in mathematics.
i've spent a massive portion of my life battling mental health, and in the past couple of years, i've had to start dealing with sudden onset chronic illness that largely changed how i go about my daily life.
while i still have bad days, i've managed to find certain things that work really well to help me stay afloat. i've found a lot of comfort and self-love in things like shadow work, consistent journaling, finding forms of movement i enjoy, and letting go of the notion that the things that help others should help me. finding my own ways to care for my mental health instead of forcing myself to do what i thought i should has been a game-changer for me.
here are the areas I feel I'm best suited to provide support in (because of personal experience), although I will always do my best to provide support in any area: struggles with things like anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, chronic pain, breakups, bullying, eating disorders, loneliness, managing emotions, self esteem, social anxiety, academic stress, organization, and general mental health.
what does a typical chat with me look like? i usually start by introducing myself and asking how i can best support you. this might be venting, asking for reassurance and validation, or just wanting to talk about something silly like the weather. you guide the conversation, i'm just there to help and provide support or prompts wherever you need them. you are in charge, we can stop whenever you want and change subjects as you want.
need to talk? i may not always be available, but i will always do my best to get back to unscheduled chats as soon as possible. if you want to be sure you can get ahold of me, schedule an appointment so we can catch up!
