Medically speaking this can mean a lot of things. Disruption in sleep habits can go from way too much sleep to not enough or poor sleep, segmented sleep, etc. Sleep disturbances is a big tell tale sign of depression. But it doesn’t have to mean that. It can be that you have other issues. Low thyroid. Anemia. Or even something like bad sleep hygiene. Examine what else is going on and a trip to a doc to discuss it wouldn’t be a bad idea.

It could mean a lot of things. The most frequent reason that people sleep a lot, is because their bodies need sleep. Sleep is essential, but too much sleep can be too much. In conclusion, unless it's above 9/10 hours a day (7-8 is recommended) then you shouldn't be worried. It's also completely normal to sleep more when you get older, as your body needs it.

Sleeping too much can be a symptom of many disorders. Depression is one of them. Depression can cause extreme tiredness for no reason. Anxiety is another reason, it can stop you from being able to fall asleep because you're stressing. It can also be a symptom of many physical disorders, I'd advice seeing your doctor about it.
