Well if it helps you, then that's your way of coping. Everyone is different and if it helps being on this site then thats a wonderful thing. I would hope it goes well for you on here with others and you become relieved of anything that's made you feel down. This site is here for free and confidential talking, even in the long run for any and every issue you face :) that's why there are guests that become members, because you can also have a long chats and some Listeners accept long time chats and members for when those members need to vent. Its really great to have someone to talk to if you need it, don't ever listen to someone who says it's not normal or whatever to depend on this site so much, We have members come on her daily for the same listeners. It's a learning progress between two people, getting to understand the issue you accompanied by can take time, whether minutes or hours. Don't feel ashamed or anything by being here, you're doing what you feel you should and that's great you've taken a stand to do what you feel is best for you. Thanks for being here, and hopefully your satisfied every time you log onto here :)

I think it is good to use something that has proven to be helpful but you can try other things as well so that you do not become dependent on one thing.

This is an amazing site with a very supportive community. If this is how you cope with feeling blue, then it is absolutely acceptable. It would also be beneficial to find other coping strategies for when this site may not be available though. other than that, this is a wonderful idea :)

7cups is a great resource and can definitely be good to help when you feel down, but it should not be used as your exclusive resource. If you find yourself relying on 7cups a lot you may benefit from professional therapy or counseling, and you may want to work on developing a support system of friends and family to help you as well.

Its always ok to turn to this site when you are feeling down, if you are looking for someone to talk to and to listen. It might not be the best place to get quick and simple solutions, but when you are feeling down, the problem never IS simple in the first place. But if you need to just talk to someone who cares, and don't know anyone else you can share with, this is a good place.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to talk to someone when you feel down, however if you keep coming back to vent over and over while doing nothing to change your situation (assuming it is something that can be changed) then it becomes an addiction. Feel down, vent to someone, feel relieved for a short time, feel down again and the cycle continues. I have known people that do nothing but complain online about their problems over and over even when people give them advice. I'm not saying it's wrong to vent--it's definitely fine--but it can easily turn into looking for constant emotional validation.

When you feel down its important to seek for support, if its here or somewhere else it doesn't matter. I think seeking help isn't being depended on something. It's a step in the right direction.

Well, that is purely based on you on how you overcome things. There are times that when you're alone & you need someone to talk this site is always here for you, but remember that you still have friends that surrounds you and you can also talk to them

Coming onto 7 Cups is always a great thing to do when you feel the need for some support. We're always here to help anyone and talking is a great first step into working towards feeling better. Over time, I think it's important to eventually be able to sometimes rely on yourself to make yourself feel better. Learning to become too dependent on someone/a website isn't always a good thing. However, I guess it shouldn't really matter because you're getting help and that's an amazing and commendable thing.
