Anxiety has its advantages. During my more anxious years I was productive. My schoolwork was always done; I had time to volunteer with multiple organizations; I was rarely late and I rarely let anyone down. I was so anxious that I forfeited sleep and my health just so I could be as close to perfect - reliable, responsible, creative, and prolific - as possible. But that didn't leave any room for feeling emotions or taking deep breaths. When I'm not anxious, I can "be" without "doing". I can accept myself and accept the flaws of others without trying to change those flaws. I also get less stuck on details and can enjoy the bigger picture. Even the bumps and mistakes take on their own beauty because they become a part of a larger plan/purpose, no longer existing as stark blemishes on an otherwise "perfect" record. Currently, my public image is not my “ideal” self, but my experiences and emotions finally feel like my own and not some third-person narrative. My relationships are better too. I can listen more and show more compassion (because I make mistakes too!); and when I stop trying to control how people see me, it permits others the freedom to be themselves when they are around me - flaws and all. I realize that other people have their own insecurities and anxieties, but I want to be one less person contributing to that negativity in this world.

Living without anxiety is not possible. Even people with no anxiety disorders have some anxiety in their lives. Anxiety is helpful in some ways: it motivates us to, for example, study for an exam to avoid failing it, or to avoid putting our lives in danger. However, when this anxiety becomes out of proportion, is then when it's called "anxiety disorder."

To be honest, I have no idea. I have had social anxiety since I was 7. I feel like it would be nice and less stressful. Living with anxiety is like getting a chair pulled out from below you every five seconds. Without anxiety would be more peaceful. I'm not sure but that's what I am thinking it would be like.

Anxiety is something that everyone experiences. Some people learn to control it, while other learn to live with less of it. Anxiety itself isn't the crippling thing that prevents us from keep moving on in life. It's rather how we perceive the anxiety: we often overthink things, causing us to get anxious about a particular event (or something). Being "not anxious" is more about accepting yourself and the things you cannot control. Why worry when you're going to overthink and exaggerate an event in your mind and scare yourself? There's no need to worry, because what has done has been done, and what needs to be done will be done. Worrying and being anxious about an event does not change the outcome, if not make it worse. So what does feel like to live without any anxiety? Nobody knows. I doubt that anyone experiences no anxiety. Some people just learn how to deal with and accept things as they are.

There are still things you worry about, but you are able to understand what worries are based in reality, and which are not. You are still nervous about things, but you can do things you need and want to despite the nervousness. Not having an anxiety disorder means you experience anxiety, worry, and nerves in smaller, more manageable quantities and can move through these emotions quicker and more effectively and with less emotional pain. For many with anxiety disorders, they can attain a state similar to this through the use of coping methods they learn in therapy and sometimes with psychiatric medications as well.
