Everyone is different when it comes to depression. I find that pushing myself to go out and do things, helps. Now I understand it is very hard when you are depressed to go out and do things. So you can also try to find an escape. I use reading, but like I said everyone is different.

Therapy can do wonders if you find the right therapist for you! :) The first steps are always the hardest, but learning to walk is worth the effort. ;)

There is no bona fide "stop being depressed" magical cure, but you can absolutely start your road to recovery by seeking help from a medical professional and having open honest conversations with those you truly trust. Its a long road but anyone can make it, it's just a matter of how far you're willing to climb.
just be more active, more out going, try new things that you have never experienced, like try camping, its great fun.
Getting out of your room, see, talk and watch people (family, friends and mere strangers). Actively choosing to be active, happy and most importantly count your blessings. With everything that is happening to the world right now - its a great feeling to just wake up each day and still know that we are still in this world for a purpose. So go out there and make a difference. Help people!
Talking to a mental health professional for guidance might help. Not keeping everything to yourself.
There is no easy answer to this question. Everyone is different and there is no one fits all answer. But realizing you have depression is the first step. And getting help is the 2nd. Try reaching out to a doctor or counselor or therapist for further help in your situation. Best of luck to you!

The best way for me to stop being depressed was to learn to love myself, and treat myself with compassion. As soon as I felt that way, I began to see my entire life in a completely different light. Loving-kindness towards yourself is incredibly important.
Be positive! Be around people and help others. Volunteer. Spend time around misfortunate people who have less than you and then be grateful about what you have and that you can help others who don' t have as much. Also, force yourself to get out each day and do something to make yourself happy. It can be in the form of a walk, a movie, buying clothes, or just relaxing for the day, but do what makes you happy regardless of what anyone else says or thinks. Also get plenty of exercise and sleep and eat healthy. Although see therapist and go to support group sif needed.
