If you loved each other so much before a breakup, why is it so hard to stay friends after the break up?

because you feel like you two worked better as a couple instead of friends especially of the love and the bonded you shared

It is hard to stay friends because the kind of love between lovers and friends is different. The lines that are crossed and the ways you make yourself vulnerable are a major part in the difference in the two relationships. Mourning the love lost between lovers when it changes to love between friends takes time, and not all relationships can survive this process. However, staying honest with your ex-lover about what you need during this transition can help make it more bearable for both parties. If a relationship is to salvaged in this way, both parties must work together to make it work.
