I think exercise is a great way to relieve anxiety. Becoming a physically healthy person does wonders for your mental health as well.

I think that if you find out what triggers your anxiety the choose to refrain from running into them, that just might help.

Yes :) Firstly, diet. Less sugar and caffeine as these mess with the blood sugar levels and 'amp you up'. Less drinking too. Eating healthily and regularly not only helps the physical symptoms of anxiety but knowing that you are giving your body what it needs can help how you think too. Exercise is another important factor. It can help get rid of all the nervous energy/adrenaline and if you choose the right exercise (yoga, tai chi) it can also teach you how to relax physically and mentally. Another thing that I find helps is keeping a journal. Writing all your worries down. Try to surround yourself with positive and caring people too.

Yes, but you have to find what works for you the best. We all have different ways to cope and manage emotions. Some examples could be taking a walk in nature, practicing gratitude, meditating, keeping a journal, challenging your anxious thoughts, talking to a therapist, exercising, eating healthy etc. It depends also on how deep your anxiety is and if there are any triggers, identifying them and working on them is one of the best long term solutions. What personally helped me with my anxiety in the past was identifying the triggers and working on them, along with talking to a therapist and challenging the intrusive anxious thoughts.

Writing down my anxious thoughts and later evaluating them. What also helps me a great deal is being aware of intrusive thoughts.

Meditation and yoga are great for anxiety. Start with guided ones on youtube, just 5 minutes a day can really help. Take this time to treat yourself. Also try cutting down on high hormonal foods like chicken and dairy. Turning vegan really helped me with anxiety. I hope I helped you ♡

The lifestyle changes that you can make to help with anxiety are the following. A great way is to take time for yourself, just away from everyone, maybe take a day off from work or if you're in school do something you love on the weekend; something calming like writing or painting. It doesn't even matter if you are good at it, just relax. Another way may sound like it wouldn't help but eat well and get adequate sleep. Drinking less caffeine can also help to limit anxiety. Getting outside can really help with anxiety as well as depression, just take a walk and get some fresh air.

Yes, several. The first thing you should know is that anxiety is perfectly okay, and not something you have to be ashamed of. When looking at lifestyle changes you can make to manage it, I would first examine physical health. Make sure you're getting 7-9 hours of sleep per night, getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, (it's as simple as a walk, people!) and being aware of your diet. Excess caffeine and sugar can increase anxiety and make it worse, as well as disrupt sleep. Giving your brain and body the right nutrients can work wonders. Lastly, an excellent method to ease anxiety would be therapy. Sitting down with a professional for an hour a week made a massive reduction in my anxiety. It helps to discuss how you feel with somebody who wants to help you.

Reserving time for self care. Exercise is highly recommended (doesn't matter what, just move!). Cut out soda and smoking. Add aromatherapy to your life. Download meditation and task managing apps. Take care of yourself first.

Based on my experiences, making sure I'm eating healthy, getting exercise, getting proper sleep, and taking time for self-care have all contributed to my anxiety positively!

Absolutely! Practicing good self care is huge. But what is self care to you? Think about things that make you happy. Watching movies, having a nice dinner, treating yourself to an at home spa, etc. Making sure you regularly practice self care and self love can really help. Doctors also recommend having a healthy diet and regularly exercising can help to lessen anxiety. Yoga and meditation too! In the end, most things will depend on you and your personal lifestyle. Being healthy is a really good first step to aim for! If you're struggling, take it bit by bit. You got this!

In my personal experience giving yourself less tasks, or reducing stress can help reduce the amount of anxiety you are coping with. Living with anxiety myself, exercise eating healthy, and finding a niche or hobby that fits you really helps me. Getting plenty of rest and allowing your brain to function properly on the stressful situations helps build yourself up to make those problems more tolerable to deal with; as well as makes stressful decisions easier to make. I have a big furry German Shepard support animal named King that really helps me through the bad days. Hot tea or a long walk never hurt anyone either :)

Of course, lots of things, actually! First: Drink less caffeine Coffee and Energy Drinks have been linkes to higher levels of anxiety. more sports (really helps!) A little workout twice a week can help already. You just need to get sweaty, not completely exhaust yourself. Do something quick at always the same time! start journaling (helps even more) Venting your emotions on paper helps a lot. You can reread it and reflect. Also, paper nice. Paper not judge. log your emotions and when you get anxious most Identify triggers and try to avoid them. If you can't, try breathing techniques in stressing situations. Rule number one: Change what you CAN control, ignore what you can't control. vent to a therapist if you have one or a 7Cups Listener if you don't We're here for you.

Yes there are. You can learn to relax, meditate, talk to someone, learn deep breathing, join an online support room, or you can even come to 7cups. You can take online courses, some are free, and learn more about anxiety. Keeping a track of what triggers your anxiety can be helpful and finding healthy ways of dealing with it can help as well. Connecting with people who have anxiety might be insightful for you as well. Some people find it helpful, when they talk to others who have anxiety. I hope this helps you. For me, something that makes me extremely anxious may require some actual drilling down into the worst case scenario; so, actually examining my worst fear around the subject, and interrogating myself, so that I confront what would realistically be the worst possible outcome and how I would deal with it. For instance, right now I am looking for work, and being out of a job is extremely stressful (even though I chose to walk away from an organisation that had serious issues). But, if I follow the 'absolute worst case scenario' thinking (which I realistically realise is not likely), that I never get a job again, I can see that I am very lucky because I have a good amount of savings and my birth family are all doing well enough that they have extra space in their homes and I would not be left without a roof. Of course it is a situation that is less than ideal, but at the very least I am fortunate enough to know that I would not have to end up on the streets because of not being able to find work, so this helps me to calm my anxieties somewhat.

The first thing that made the most difference in my case was to stop listening to every other advice and opinion that came my way. I understand they all mean well, but no one understands you better than you do. Trying to stop over analyzing and overthinking every little argument and situation also made a difference. Basically, I started to feel better the day I started to consciously make efforts for myself and my well being, At the end of the day, I was drowning and saving myself from my thoughts was the best way out !

I usually take a hot bath or massage to help me relax both in physically and psychologically. When I am under the water or float on the water, I will feel free like in paradise, thus it will help you forgetting every stressful and anxious things.

Anxiety has the tendency to spawn many unsettling feelings like fear and inferiority. Breathing exercises and meditation, in my opinion, are potent tools to stop a train of anxious thoughts. The state of our mind inadvertently catalyses our breathing patterns. These patterns may be reverse-engineered to constrain anxiety. When anxious, try deep breathing ; inhaling till your lung are full and then exhaling. Repeat this as many times as you can. Deep breathing relaxes our minds. Meditation too, has irrefutable benefits in this regard. Set aside a few minutes everyday to meditate. With practice, you will be able to control your thoughts.

Yes! There are actually a number of lifestyle changes that can help quell anxiety. Yoga, especially first thing in the morning, can be a great help. There are plenty of instructional videos on Youtube that are geared specifically toward alleviation of depression and anxiety, as well as DVDs you can purchase and classes that you can take (this will vary by area). Regular exercise can help with anxiety as well, especially cardio (walking, jogging, running, elliptical machine, etc.). There are also other less physical activities that can help with anxiety, if you are unable to perform the aforementioned activities for any reason-- one is meditation, which is possible to learn from a book or video (again there are Youtube videos that can instruct you) but I've found that if you can find a meditation studio near you, having a personal instructor can really help. Diet is something that can help but it's difficult to give specific advice in this area because it varies from person to person. Seeing a registered dietitian/nutritionist can help you figure out a plan that works for you. Lastly, listening to music that you like is a great way to alleviate anxiety. Studies have shown that listening to music actually releases pleasurable chemicals in your brain, so even something as simple as listening to your favorite songs more often can help you feel better!

What I found works for me is to settle into a routine, one that I can expect and plan for the day before. It does take effort to plan things out, but taking the steps to, say, cook lunch the day before, set out my clothes the day before, and pack my bags for work/school the day before, I am less anxious about forgetting or missing something. It prevents disasters. I set a schedule for myself with my phone right before sleeping, so I know exactly what to do upon waking up. I even have notifications/alarms for eating and showering, basic stuff like that. When I leave all these small decisions and steps up to a quiet notification telling me what to do, then I spend less time worrying about my day-to-day actions. It reduces decision-making, which is a big part of my anxiety.

implementing a daily routine so you know what you're going to do and what to expect, and don't have to worry about forgetting important things can take the edge off general anxiety and allow you to focus on things that matter.

-Find fulfilling hobbies that will keep your mind stimulated and occupied. -Sleep well-make a sleep schedule and sleep for as much as you need. -Surround yourself with compassionate, understanding people who are similar to you. Have somebody to express your feelings to. -If you are suffering from severe anxiety, do consider medication that can ease you into the situations that make you anxious, until you become more comfortable in them. -Exercise and release all your pent-up nerves and energy. Moreover, exercising promotes the release of endorphins, or "feel-good chemicals". -Don't shy away from yourself and who you are. Analyze your thoughts and behavior, understand why you do what you do and embrace it. All of it-the good and the bad.

Yes its good if you can start your day with something positive and move along from there. Always try new things and move forward in everything that you do.
