In life we don’t get to choose our struggles, we don’t get to choose the issues we deal with whether that is mental or physical in nature. But we can choose how we go through our struggles, how we manage our issues. Whether you are dealing with a lack of confidence, self-esteem, or anxiety, you don’t have to be alone!
Surround yourself with people who have a positive impact on your mental health. This can be friends, family, or even an online support system such as listeners on 7 Cups.
Open up about your struggles and seek support. You can even figure out an arrangement for when you feel down so your support system can help you the way you want.
For example:
Alex struggles with self-esteem issues, some days he doesn't feel good about how he looks. Those days he finds it helpful to be told otherwise. He has requested his friend Eli to help him see the positives when he is feeling down. Now when he feels down, he simply lets Eli know and Eli helps him see the good in him.
Think of one person who can be a part of your support system. Write down who they are and how they can help. If you feel comfortable, you can reach out to them after completing this step.
