What is DBT?

Creator: @StarlitSky4762

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy.

The main goals of DBT are to teach people how to live in the moment, cope with stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships with others.

DBT is essentially a skill set, that is taught in a setting like a classroom, or you can learn it from a book.

DBT Skills training is made up of four modules:
1) core mindfulness - the basics
2) distress tolerance - crisis management skills
3) emotion regulation - building a life worth living
4) interpersonal effectiveness - improving relationships

Not every skill works for every person.
Please try to think of DBT as a menu not a mandate.

Lets get started!
